I had no experience using a lawyer and had no idea how to choose one. So I looked at reviews. Mark had a high rating, and people spoke well of him. I called and talked to several firms to learn about how they worked, what their rates were, and how payments would be structured. I found Mark to be very reasonable financially, and liked how he structured his billing systems. But what sold me was my initial conversation with Mark. He seemed genuinely concerned for me and my situation, and gave me more information and advice ( for free, by the way) during that initial conversation than any other firm. Mark knows the law well. It is difficult to explain just how much he did for me without disclosing too much about my case, but I lost track of how many things I was unaware of, that he not only brought to my attention, but took care of for my benefit. He got some charges dropped, some reduced, he contested things from my past and got them removed from my record. He made me aware of everything I needed to do, told me how to do it, and and made sure it was done. He contacted agencies on my behalf, drafted letters and knew the right people to call when my attempts went unheeded. Ultimately, I feel like Mark genuinely cared about me, and what happened to me. And I get the feeling he does the same for all of his clients. He is a good man, and I will actually miss meeting with him, we got along very well. I had a terrible experience. 1. He said it was old case…read morerhat it would be a fine..Didn't Happen 2. Took many months to reach the DA Then pushed me to take a plea that would be a fine. DIDNT HAPPEN 3. JUDGE did not honor agreement. ( do not enter into a plea agency it will not be honored) 4. I then was give 2 weeks , plus a fine. Shane represented this would not happen 5 Shane then assured me I had the GPS or house arrest. Not true. 6 I didn't discover I was not being given gps bracelet until I arrived at the jail, 7. Shane abandoned me, said he sent a letter to court. 8 then Shane went on vacation leaving me in jail. Many many times he doesn't respond to calls or emails. He represented many issues of which everyone was wrong. In fact , nothing during this entire experience that he represented was true. NOTHING!

I have been…read morehaving some ongoing legal issues with someone I know, and the process has taken over 10 months, when it really shouldn't take that long. So I sent an email asking if instead of a consultation he would have any advice for how I could get ahold of someone in the court system to try to get things moving forward. He skimmed my email and sent me back an email that honestly made me cry because he spoke down to me, and it was glaringly obvious that my question was beneath him if he wasn't lining his pockets. Here's one of the lines: "As I am sure you can understand, I do have clients who pay me to handle their case and for my advice." Then don't offer a free consultation on your website. Don't belittle someone who has no legal knowledge who has a question. I wouldn't have bothered with this if he could have been somewhat polite in his rejection - but this was uncalled for, and it was beyond rude. Based on this interaction alone, I would never recommend these people for anyone. Absolutely not.

I gave him paperwork to be filed and they never turned it over to the court or opposing attorney until months later. Delaying my court case. I was in the process of changing the placement/visitation, it was cancelled by opposing counsel which I wanted modified. (Main reason I hired him) He was given the option to have the motion heard but instead agreed to the have it dropped. It has been a year and it still hasn't been addressed. During court for another matter AJ was very unprepared and didn't answer or ask questions to help steer it in my favor. Which would have been very easy to do. He maybe said 30 words while in court. AJ didn't file or follow through with numerous requests to help move any part of my case to progress. When you physically talk to him he tells you what you want to hear or blames it on his assistant. I would ask for a phone conference which never would happen. What a waste of a year! My son is still hurting in the process because he was waiting for the change in visitation to happen. Wanting a GAL to hear his side, which he never requested. WASTE OF MONEY!!! Nothing was accomplished during his short but expensive duration as my lawyer. I asked her why and she said it will cost me $250 to speak with him even though it was regarding a case I hired him for. I could understand if it was something that didn't have to do with the case i retained him for but it was and very dissapointing.
