The Thursday before the scheduled cleaning, we found out that the previous owner had the place professionally cleaned. So I asked if she would consider allowing us to cancel, or if not, I'd follow through on the cleaning commitment and have her clean another place for the same number of hours. She wound not consider allowing us to cancel (lost 167.00 deposit) AND she would not consider cleaning an alternate location. She said the quote was for that day and for that address only. Absolutely nowhere on the quote did it say the cleaning could not be moved to an alternate address. Also, she would not talk to me on the telephone to discuss. All of this was handled via text. Even after I told her I did not understand what she was trying to convey in the text, she still did not pick up a phone to discuss with me nor would she answer the phone when I called. Be extremely careful - I'm also in the service industry. I do understand things happen. I am always much more flexible with my customers. I was shocked, to say the least, that she wouldn't work with us a little more. As you can imagine, to loose 167.00 for an 80-year-old is quite disheartening.
