I finally got around to calling them to see if they would indeed honor the gift card and was told that although Joe is the same guy that issued the gift card and took my friends' money, they could not honor it because it was "a different corporation". Before even entering the store there was a new person there (assuming the co owner) working. She condescendingly asked if we were 21 and carded us, well that wasn't really a big deal for Us, but once we started browsing and looking at different wines she tells us, "please don't pick up any bottles in that section if you don't plan to buy, it would be very expensive to replace..." THE BOTTLE WE PICKED UP WAS $36!!! (we were taught to always look at labels, producers and importers when buying wine) We are just heartbroken because we thought we had a new locally owned wine shop to support one of our favorite pastimes.
