I hate to give this place 3 stars but I'm going to. First, it's one of two restaurants op the 'dijk' (the other one is Beaufort- next door) in Duinbergen (next to Knokke). The awesome thing about this place is the outside seating. I've actually eaten here a couple of times (last two times I was in Belgium) This time I sat in the beautiful sun under an umbrella. The service was attentive. I ordered the 'dag' menu (day menu). It started with a yummy soup, a refreshing salad with cured ham and then the main course was 'kabeljauw'. This is where the review heads south. The cod was simply not good at all. It had no taste. Rubbery in fact. Yikes! It came with small potatoes which were fine. However, I just couldn't get over the fact that the fish was just so bad. Everything was washed down with a few pintjes (refreshing Jupiler) and ended with a dame blanche (a sundae of sorts- not really though). The dessert was good mind you. So there you have it. I give it three stars b/c the main course needed to be WAY better. Turns out- I told my uncle where I ate lunch and he said he prefers Beaufort every time.....oh well, next time.
