Stopped in for a drink because of the Ian Fleming connection. Very upscale bar in a very upscale hotel.
Showed up without a reservation on an off night and had to wait about 15 minutes. I sat in lobby and the host came and got me and called me by name. Nice touch!
There is a dress code (something like smart casual), but I'd be surprised if the staff would say anything - they're too polite!
Sat at a small table in a comfortable chair. Ordered a gin and tonic, and waiter wheeled a small cart over and made it right there. Not a big show, it's just the way they do it. Of course the drink was top notch.
I saw him making some other drink for another table, and asked about it. It was a Vesper, which is their speciality, so I had one. Even though I'm a gin and tonic guy, the Vesper is the drink to get here.
It's a small room and you there's a lot of chit chat between the tables, so a good place to meet people, or business contacts etc.
25£ per drink. A little pricey but the ingredients were beyond too shelf, and a really cool atmosphere. And super friendly and welcoming staff.
Definitely worth a try. read more
