Purchased my first gun( taurus 38 special revolver) along with ammo this past spring. It took me months to get time to go shoot it because I was just busy with work and appointments and running my kids around. I finally made it to the shooting range in September and when I shot it, the instructor came up to me and checked the ammo and they told me dukes sold me the wrong ammo and that that ammo could break my gun. They sold me 38 SPL+P. I went to dukes and told them this and they refused to refund me of even give me a discount on buying the correct ammo and told me I could shoot that ammo with my gun and that I should contact taurus to see what they say. So I purchased regular 38 special ammo. When I got home I called taurus and they told me that yes I could use it here and there but that it would wear my gun out quicker and that they recommended the regular 38 special, not the 38 special +P. read more

This is a great shop and the guys that work there couldn't be better. They're always attentive and ready to answer any question. They have been doing a great job trying to keep inventory up especially in light of the massive surge in interest due to the pandemic. What would be a five star review is now a one star review due to the actions of one employee at Duke's sport shop. I am continually extremely disappointed in the actions of the general manager. I have been in the store many times and listen to the general manager ridicule customers and the ownership. Usually this occurs just after hanging up the phone or as soon as the customer walks away from the counter. Makes me wonder what he says of me. A recent visit this past week was particularly bad. This time I chose to leave everything I was purchasing on the counter and walk out. I will not be back to Dukes Sport shop until the ownership takes action to replace this employee. read more

I joined a women's shooting league. Not a terribly experienced shooter but definitely not a newbie. Been looking for my own pistols to join this league with. I have been to several gun stores looking for a certain firearm. I have been looked over, not waited on and ignored not even greeted, all while the men around me get quick service, courtesy and the showcase opened. NOT at DUKES!!! Being a woman shopping alone, I was greeted with courtesy, assisted in my search for the firearm I came in to purchase and had a wonderful discussion with every person who worked there. We purchased a 20-gun Browning gun safe from Duke's at a very good price. It is large and heavy; it literally weighs a ton (in fact, it weighs so much that it flattened both tires on my refrigerator dolly). For a mere $100 Duke's delivered the gun safe to my home in Ohio from their Pennsylvania store in a one ton pickup truck with five strong men divided between a second pickup truck to carry it into our home and place it in its location. These guys were superb; went way beyond expected or even hoped for. Thanks again Duke's, you guys are the best. read more

Nice shop...I usually shop here when I need something...before I moved here I heard people say that the prices were high, but actually they are not outragious on gun prices...I'd say they are average priced...besides, there us not much difference nowadays in the price of guns if you compare from one place to another on the same model gun. Now certain other things like clothing, boots, hunting or fishing products could be slightly higher priced, but I think that only the large chain stores like gander mountain or cabelas can have the lowest prices on those items due to large bulk orders. read more

I was treated very rudely by staff. I was a first time customer and they did not explain their policy to me. When I asked for a refund they were very rude and did not care. Dont waste your time shopping there. There are other firearm places that had a better staff to buy from who won't take your money and then treat you like garbage and do nothing to keep your business. read more

I use to love going into this shop. I love the layaway plan, now that I am on unemployment. I have bought quite a few guns there and my whole family has too. Today when I went in there I needed to cancel a layaway that I had, because of money issues. They did not know that at the time, however. Not only did I have to stand in line, but I got RIPPED OFF, and disrespected. The one gentleman waited on a woman who came long after me, I tried to tell him that I was first, but he basically told me to shut up that he can only do one thing at a time. then the other waited on someone who was buying shells who came in after me. This guy the brown haired one with glasses finally came to help me, but the man who helped the woman got pissy. Now legally they can charge you 10% and I understand that however they cannot include the TAX!!! Then it should have been $39.26 or so cents and the man told the glasses guy to charge me $40!!! This is MORE THAN what it should have actually been even with the tax.!!!! The same cashed me out and instead of handing me the money he went down the counter and put the money on the counter so that I had to turn around and walk down to get it!!! Then told me to have a nice day, to which I said yeah right and walked away then he yells, "I enjoyed it too!!" What the hell. Me and my whole family refuse to EVER go back there!!!! read more
