My husband was very impressed from the time of the measurements to the installation of the door and the professionalism of the employee who took the time to answer his questions. We really had some concerns as our shower stall wasn't a standard size and the toilet location in relationship to opening the door. Totally unfounded fears now. This truly is a custom door! We love it so much and it adds a spa feel to our master bath area and made the room so much richer looking, not to mention that the shower area is so much warmer than our old shower. I contacted A1 on December 2nd about a problem with my screen door. After returning from a business trip on December 16, I provided more details about the issue. They said someone would come to take measurements, but according to my front door camera, no one ever showed up. On December 18, they confirmed via text--providing detailed information--that they could do the job at a price I could afford. Finally, on December 30th, they came to do the work. I was out of town for business again, but since my first experience was positive, I trusted things would go smoothly. That was a mistake. They did the exact opposite of what we agreed upon, despite confirming the details in writing. Nothing they promised was actually done. To make matters worse, they left my front porch a mess. I later had another handyman look at their work, and he told me I was overcharged, especially considering they just reused the original materials and merely painted over them. I am extremely disappointed that I gave this business a second chance. I am retracting my original positive review.

They have on window shop display a variety of earrings and necklaces that are handmade, one of a kind unique, which looks like it is made for different pieces of glass. They do traditional, formal, informal, etched glass windows of all sizes. There is this one four foot by three foot etched glass of a couple dancing in a modern Toulouse-Lautrec type of style. They have the 20's look stainglass as well as "hippie" style, as well as anyother style you can conjure up. In this world where everything is now seemed to be made in China, you can walk at the side of the store, its on a corner, and peer into the glass workshop. This is a REAL glass work shop being used for many years. During regular hours you might be able to see the craftsman at work and see different commissioned pieces in various stages of completion. There are very few artists in America that are worth their salt. This one is worth both their salt and pepper. A must stop.even to window shop.

I emailed Homerite and heard back immediately from Kevin who scheduled an appointment to give us an estimate. I had done my research on Homerite before contacting Kevin and felt comfortable knowing he had a slew of good reviews and was part of the BBB. I received multiple quotes from different companies and decided to go with Kevin since he only has a specific crew of people he works with and was able to match the price I got from Andersen. It was a bit pricey, but I believe I got the best quality for the price and it was worth it! Kevin was easy to work, and once I signed the contract, his crew was at my house and installed the door in a day! Homerite's doors are Miliken which may not be as reknown as Andersen or Pella but their product is great! I chose the Miliken fiberglass oak door (there is a light woodgrain texture to it so it looks like a wood door) and I was able to choose different colors for the inside and outside. I opted for tricorn black on the outside and urbane bronze on the inside. Kevin's crew also installed a new satin nickel door knocker and keypad lock to my door. He also made sure the hinges were satin nickel to match. Such attention to detail and for a door, it looks phenomenal! The crew also installed a framesaver jamb that is made of a composite material in order to prevent water damage and rot. We have had the door for over two years now and it really stands out on our block. Black door against red brick looks fantastic. We recently had some slight peeling on the paint on the jamb (the door still looks brand new!) and I emailed Kevin and he came by the next day just to make sure everything was still in order. He dropped off a can of matching paint for me (July 2012) so I could do a touchup on my own--having had the door installed January 2010--that's phenomenal service! I couldn't recommend Homerite enough!
