Second visit: two and a half hours waiting. I only stayed for blood work results. I specifically requested (multiple times) an estradiol test and gave them a list. They skipped it, claiming it's "only for women." That's completely false -- I've had this test done for years without issue. They're incompetent, force unnecessary doctor visits even when they mess up basic orders, and waste everyone's time. Do not trust these people with your health. Save your time and money -- go anywhere else.

I recorded my visit with this doctor, if anyone wants to hear it. So I gave this doctor a second opportunity and on my second visit, I waited an hour again, not including the hour I arrived early. I told the teenagers at the front desk that this was an excessive waiting time and I left. I had called, emailed a number of times wanting a copy of my medical file and no one ever responded. It wasn't until I got my health insurance involved to mediate the pick up of my record that I finally got it. I will be filing a complaint with OPMC (Office Professional Medical Conduct).

Priska is a joke. I spoke to her twice on the phone. She took down my full name, my date of birth and my insurance information, with a promise that she would contact me to let me know if my insurance was covered. Priska asked me one question "is this immigration related?" I answered "no," and she quickly rushed me off the phone. Over a year later and I have never heard back. Crecer did not answer my calls or return my messages. Priska you should be damn ASHAMED of yourself. You are a snob. At first contact, I was told that my insurance would only cover the initial evaluation and would only partially cover any additional treatment. However, after speaking with Dr. Hernandez, he worked some kind of magic and managed to have my insurance cover the entire cost. Without having to worry about the financial aspect, I could concentrate on the more serious burden of having to live with a deteriorated mental state. After an initial evaluation by a couple of perfectly capable graduate students, I was paired with one of their psychologists named Dr. Baguer. For the sake of maintaining my privacy and without using any hyperbole, I will just say that Dr. Baguer is an angel that walks the earth. Anyone who is lucky enough to have him help with any emotional or mental distress is truly blessed. Speaking of privacy concerns, virtual meetings are available and are just as effective as in-person talk therapy. Overall, my experience with Neuropsychological Services of Astoria was an excellent one. In my first conversation with Dr. Hernandez, I remember him assuring me that they would help and take care of my issues. Months after speaking regularly with one of their miracle-working psychologists, Dr. Baguer, I can look back and say that he was true to his word.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience with this neuropsychology practice, and I would not…read morerecommend this practice based on my experience. I came here as a concerned mother looking for answers about my daughter. Instead, I felt that an excessive amount of the conversation focused on billing and a potential balance of approximately $2,500 rather than on my daughter and the reason we were there. What made this even more confusing was that my insurance company referred me to this practice. I have never had issues with my insurance paying for covered services, so I did not understand the intense focus on whether and how the practice would be paid. As a mother concerned about her child, my priority was getting answers about my daughter--not repeatedly discussing the practice's billing process. I also voluntarily shared information about my daughter's other insurance coverage. Afterward, I felt that information I had provided in good faith was used in a way that I had not expected or understood. This left me extremely uncomfortable about how my family's personal insurance information was being handled. Another major concern involved coordination of benefits (COB). At one point, the doctor mentioned that he did not know what COB meant. I found this particularly confusing considering how much of our interaction had focused on insurance, billing, and whether the practice would be paid. After contacting my daughter's insurance directly, I was also told that they had not sent the provider a COB. Those inconsistencies made me question whether I was being given accurate and transparent information. I personally came away from the interaction feeling that I had been misled. Another issue did not fully register with me until afterward. A student was conducting the assessment with my daughter. At the time, I thought she was simply checking my daughter in and that the doctor would ultimately be conducting the evaluation. Had I clearly understood beforehand that a student would be conducting that portion of the assessment, I would have wanted that explained to me before proceeding. Overall, I did not feel informed or comfortable with how this practice handled my daughter's care, our insurance information, or the billing discussions. My experience felt far more focused on payment than on helping a concerned parent understand what was happening with her child. The entire experience damaged my trust in the practice, and I will not be returning.
