At the beginning of December 2025, after surgery for a fractured knee, I began working with George. It was not an easy recovery--my knee was not cooperating--and it took quite a while to get my range of motion back. George was wonderful. He provided me with excellent care and support. Additionally, he is exceptionally kind, and it was a pleasure to work with him over many months. I am much improved. I can honestly say that everyone at SOMA played a part in my recovery. I am a blind person and amazingly have not always had great experiences when visiting a doctor or physical therapist's office as I am a guide dog handler. I do not write a lot of reviews, but feel I had to as my experience with Soma PT from my first phone call to every visit to their office has been fantastic. From an accessible intake form for blind screen reader users, to the entire staff at the front desk, to their physical therapists, all my experiences have been first class and amazing. Additionally, the treatment has been first class. If you are in the Astoria area and need a physical therapist this is the place to go. I've been working Dominic ans George at SOMA for the last 4 months to recover from a meniscus repair. When I first came in i couldn't put any weight on my left leg. Now I'm walking well and rebuilding my muscle and endurance. Dominic is a knowledgeable, patient and responsive therapist. The whole crew at SOMA have contributed greatly to my recovery journey. When you're on a ride for this long it's important to enjoy your PT. All of the staff are kind, welcoming and encouraging. The offices are clean and well cared for. There is a great vibe in the room and - being an open environment- you come to feel that we are all in this together. Costa knows what he is doing and is very friendly. I have been in his his care since last December after breaking both shoulders. The left shoulder is completely normal and right is frozen and he is working on it. Everyone is super friendly so I feel very comfortable when I go. read more

Absolutely amazed at the professionalism, timeliness, and thorough efficiency of the hard workers at SOMA. Monina is one of the most polite people i have ever met. She always tries to be as accommodating as possible with scheduling and is super organized and on-top of all the paperwork, which makes it easy as a patient to not have to worry about referrals and doctor notes. Vincent and George are outstanding. These physical therapists are always personalizing different stretches and exercises to fit my individual needs. I started with George who worked strategically to figure out all the puzzle pieces of my specific hip, back, and neck situation. When Vincent joined the team, it was as if I never even switched providers. The transition was absolutely seamless. He clearly made the extra effort to understand me ans my case. He not only remembers specific details about past therapy sessions but also details about anecdotal conversations, which make me feel like I'm not "just another patient". While I have not personally worked with Costa, i want to say that he always greets me hello. In fact, everyone here greets each patient hello and goodbye and they all know the majority (if not all) of the patients' names, which truly speaks to their dedication to the SOMA community. There are not enough good things that i can say about SOMA and while the end goal is to be discharged from therapy, i will be sad when it's my time to go. Very clean and nice place, they provide good care and open speaking environment. They always answer phone calls and emails so you are never in the dark. I highly recommend SOMA if you need physical therapy. I came to SOMA after breaking my elbow in an accident and being passed through various teams of doctors, nurses, and PTs. I can honestly say I have never felt so cared for as a human by a team of medical professionals. Costa is my OT and he is wonderful at pushing me to rebuild my strength and flexibility while respecting my needs as a patient. He is also funny, nice to talk to, and always encouraging. George and Cindy make the office feel like a genuine community, always saying hello when I come in or sharing cute puppy stories. And, Monina is an absolute gem. She handles all issues with professionalism and positivity (and adorable cardigans). She is accommodating and kind and truly makes the patient experience so easy. I started coming to Soma in June of this year with a torn MCL. George has worked wonders on knee. Very mindful and considerate on how much to push forward without aggravating the injury. New exercises weekly to strengthen the knee and post surgery this has definitely helped. The other part which is great is that they're super helpful on accommodating to your schedule and very helpful with dealing with the insurance companies. NO MORE FACTORY PT now that I'm getting excellent care at SOMA. My previous experiences with physical therapy in Astoria felt like I was being passed through a factory line. I was one of many without any personal interaction. It's completely different at SOMA Physical & Occupational Therapy. It's like a home away from home where you get a lot of TLC and professional help. The second you walk through the door you are warmly greeted by Monina and the expert therapists, Costa, George and Vincent. You know that you are the main focus when you're being worked on. They don't over book people and even when you're doing the sets of exercises that were prescribed to you, your therapist is watching and advising you. Your pain and rehabilitation is their main focus along with making you feel you are part of their family. So happy I no longer have to go to Manhattan to get the professional help that I need. FYI, this is an honest review written on my own accord. I'm just so grateful that I made the right decision in choosing them for my PT and I advise you to do the same. read more

I just began PT at Soma after having spinal fusion surgery and am extremely satisfied with my experience. George, the physical therapist, is extremely professional and very thorough in his explanations of what he is doing and why. He listens intently and always addresses my concerns. The facility is very clean and thorough cleansing is done to all surfaces between patients.
