But the place was empty at 1oclock, the prices were steep, and the new salad bar was managed very differently than what you might expect: 1) pick your greens - choice of iceberg, romaine, or kale, 2) pick your dressing - the usual choices plus a balsamic which was very good, 3) add a protein if you want. They bring you a plate with the greens, protein, and dressing, and you add toppings at the bar. FYI, its apparently all you can eat because she asked us if we wanted a second round. I wondered later if that included added protein. Nevertheless, most people cant eat another big plate of salad; so, it would be helpful to offer a one-time salad bar for less $$. The base (no protein) was $16. Add steak was +$12. Add chicken was +7. So these two salads, with no 'refills,' plus an iced tea for $2.50 was $55 (inc cc surcharge). The machine offered 20, 25, or 30% tip. So our lunch salads and a tea was $70...... The salad bar was clean and had lots of great, and healthy, choices like quinua, artichoke hearts, and assorted olives (please note: the olive have pits). Again, the food was delicious, but we can enjoy a made-to-order healthy salad with similar ingredients at a nearby restaurant for about $20 less (yes, inc steak and chicken). We didnt go for the wine, so drinkers might have a different experience; although I noted a bottle of red zin was $65. When I stopped at Smiths on the way home for a $7 rotisserie chicken for dinner, I noticed the beer and wine bar inside was packed full of people visiting and having a great time.

While the restaurant is loud (horrible acoustics in the building), it wasn't nearly as bad as in the past. I was able to have a normal conversation with my table mates. I ordered the Taco Tuesday special ($3 per taco). I had 2 hard shell shredded beef tacos and 1 soft shell chicken taco. They were all very good, but I preferred the soft shell better. The tacos had plenty of meat and an odd lettuce/cheese mixture (75% lettuce). But the flavor of the tacos were excellent. The margarita's were huge and only $8, but my rum and coke cost $10. Overall, it was a nice meal and experience.

We frequent this place very often, but we have not been here since last summer for burgers. The recent changes are depressing! Please switch the buns back! The buns they used were stale or cheap and way too thick. They weren't warmed either. I miss the sesame seeds, and the burgers just weren't juicy as usual. I understand that things are getting more expensive, but to charge someone double the price for a double patty is insane. It used to be an extra dollar, and I'd be willing to pay an extra two or three bucks. But who charges double? When the guy who took our order told us that, I thought he was joking. The service, oof! The guys manning the burger grill are usually super chill and cool, but the guys we saw yesterday were cold and rude. When my young son ordered his burger with ketchup only, he just pointed to the condiments. I don't know what's going on, but change it back quickly. I'm packing sandwiches until you figure this out.
