Re Visited 9/30/2025 I first started coming here in the mid 60s. It's wonderful that the newest owners have revived the legend of River Bars. I was here on the reopening and it felt so cool to see it alive again. Along with the open, out over the water seating and long double sided indoor bar also Came with a great new delicious menu with many tasty dishes to choose from. I've fallen in love with their Patty Melts and Onion Rings. If you want a special Patty Melt ask for them to make you a Double Patty Melt. Magnificent is all I can say and I now have to order it every time I come by. I Highly Recommend the Burgers with Fries too. Has been satisfying all us river rats for so many years. do not eat here the kitchen is infested with cockroaches they crawl all over the walla and food. the owners intentionally serve old expired food and support tweakers with poor hygiene and poor cooking skills to cook and serve old and expired food. everything is dirty and oil for frying will stay dirty for weeks. read more

It's no wonder this place is empty. Everyone in there was over 50, but they're playing this loud. Young people music. You think they could wait to clean and sanitize the bar after hours, smell of lysol was enough to make you gag. They could not even get our drink order right. Never going back there. read more

Went in 4th of July weekend. Our bartender on Wednesday was super nice and the pizza was great. Went back to take our huge group over to eat on Sunday evening, our last night. Our bartender was friendly again and the food was amazing. Here's the issue, the bartender that we had for lunch was there on Sunday evening. I said hi I think you were our bartender on Wednesday afternoon, she was super drunk, she was off work but still very unprofessional. So she proceeds to talk to a friend of mine because she happens to know her. I said yeah she was our bartender for lunch, the bartender, wasted, tells me so what, I don't care if I served you. I told her that was rude and we had given her a nice tip for her service. She says whatever and puts her hand in my face. Now if this business wants to keep people coming into their bar they need to keep their employees in check and not allow them to be completely loaded at the place they work at, I don't care if she was off the clock, you are still representing your workplace. I have been coming to the river for over 30 years and this was the worst experience I have had. Because of this I will take my money elsewhere. read more

Spent the past four days here (the kids love jumping off the deck) I had to remove a star because we got here first thing in the morning and it's filthy. We had to ask for bar towels to get clean our tables. It doesn't take much time to have the staff wipe down the tables at the beginning of the day. Especially when most of the staff is just chilling by the bar. The hand rails were so dirty (grimey), even my 7 year old grandson asked to wash his hands after touching the rails. Seems like the only ones really working were the bar tender and cook. Breakfast- Mexican scramble, my niece said it was super yummy. Biscuits and gravy was decent. Five dollar breakfast is now six dollars, but is OK for six bucks. The bartender Sylvia does make a good bloody mary. Overall we will be back. The BEST place to go on the Parker Strip! Great atmosphere, friendly people, and amazing drinks! There is plenty of seating and a swim area in the center with an Aqua Lily Pad to float on! Live bands with great music on the weekends! They have a free shuttle bus that will pick you up and take you home! (It's a yellow school bus, if you've seen it driving around town). It's a great place for the whole family and people of all ages! From a family day on the river to bachelor & bachelorette parties, everyone is welcome here! They are dog friendly also! Make sure to try their signature drink, "The Sundancer," or my personal favorite, a nice blended Big Stick! There is plenty of parking for boats, jet skis, or even cars out in the parking lot! Howdy Folks! Sundance Saloon was really super! Great food and great view to watch fast boats. Definitely an adult party atmosphere. Kids are cool there too, but just know sometimes the adults do adult things when having fun on the river. The service was timely and the food was very fresh. The establishment was clean. I had a Cobb salad and my husband had the Bacon Cheeseburger with delish tater tots. read more

The entire property was sold to private investors, who are reportedly going to build condominiums on the sight, pricey condos, considering the property is right on the Colorado River. UPDATE: A month later and they still haven't issued refunds and won't respond to emails or phone calls. (keeping money that you know isn't yours is called stealing). And when the promoter called he just screamed at me when I asked his name and said he didn't have to tell me sh*t and hung up on me without resolving the issue. They cancelled the event we paid for and didn't notify us, or anyone else with tickets. It's now too late to cancel the hotel and we either go for no reason or lose half of the hotel cost. And they won't answer the phone about a refund. We are forced to go to not lose $250 on the hotel. What a disappointment. read more

I go there often..so i don't give a bad review lightly...& i always take friends The menu is priced similar to the pirates den...but at least there the food isn't cold..the meat dishes aren't too tough to chew,& the restaurant doesn't run out of supplies.. I've been going there just under 50 years. Partied our butts off there, and the wet T-Shirt contest were the best. Even in the early 80's when it burnt down and they put up a circus tent it still packed in the people while being rebuilt. read more

I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews. This place is great. It's on the water, they serve cold beer and the bartender Rene' was so friendly! We had just come off an unfortunate experience down the river. She was so nice and kind and refreshing. The food is bar food. We had carne asada street tacos & fries. Good and hot. I can see how the kitchen would get overwhelmed when it's busy but it's not a 5 star restaurant. It's a counter you order and pay at and that's what you should expect. read more

Recently went with a group of friends. I do like the views of the river but $12 for a margarita in a plastic solo cup is ridiculous! All the drinks are overpriced and the food was even worse. This was probably one of the most worst places I have ever visited and before I go into my experience, I will preface this with this: yes I know it's a party bar, I know it's in the middle of the desert. But, the cleanliness of this place made me gag- I was reluctant to eat the food. Every table had food scum on the whole place is generally in poor shape to begin with. Everything looks like it's in need to a good cleaning. I found the hygiene of the staff most concerning where Food Service Sanitation should be notified. One guy had gloves on but didn't change his gloves after giving me change, handling money and running the register, the gloves looked like he had them on all day and didn't change them. Visited this bar/restaurant on Monday night, taco special night. An hour after we ordered, the cook comes over and says she lost our ticket! We pre-paid when she took our order. Two dogs were running through the bar, off leash, barking and sniffing my husband. Disgusting! Never got our tacos, what is quicker to prepare than tacos!! No, it ain't closed! It opened Memorial Day 2014. They've really done a good job of putting everything in shape. Motorcycle parking on right as you drive in, and near the front door.
