We purchased a package for one night with dinner and tea. When we made the reservation they never bothered to tell us that tea time was over at 5pm so we didn't get to participate. That was fine as we decided to have dinner earlier than we had reserved.
The check in was pretty smooth, though the directions and signage in the hotel was a bit confusing for our particular room. We paid extra for the upgraded room which turned out to be nice and spacious. The room would have been great... had it not been for the paper thin walls. Outside our door, we could hear everyone walking by, everyone talking and then when they were obnoxious and loud - as a bunch of young girls were - it was quite annoying.
We sleep early, but I honestly don't think its too much to think that other guests would be COURTEOUS given that it was 9pm at night. No, the loud conversations, almost running back and forth with giggling and screaming girls started to grate. We called the front desk and their response was well, to state a word - non-responsive. Finally after an hour of this nonsense, my husband got out of bed, yelled at the girls and told them to shut the "f" up and closed the doors. No more noise again.
The meal in the restaurant was ok only because it was part of the package deal. Had we paid separately for that meal, this review would be even lower. I never had lamb so overcooked in all my life and my husband wasn't sure his venison was venison at how overcooked that was. We still made the best of it and gave breakfast a chance. Needless to say, we would probably never eat there again if we ever stayed there. However, I doubt we ever would. The property is lovely and the hotel itself is quite nice. However, given the lack of responsiveness from the staff and subpar food, we'll pass. read more
