Dunham's Sports is a relatively new addition to the Statesboro shopping scene. It opened in November 2016 in the Kmart shopping center across the street from Statesboro Mall. For a small city like Statesboro, this is a nice sporting goods store to have. It's cut in the mold of a big box retailer like Dick's Sporting Goods though not as nice and there's more of a focus on guns and outdoor, hunting, fishing, and camping gear. As a Georgia Tech alum, I was surprised to see they actually carry a decent amount of Georgia Tech apparel. In the state of Georgia, outside of metro Atlanta, Georgia Tech apparel can be hard to find. Not here. Of course, they have apparel for UGA as well plus Atlanta's pro sports teams (Braves, Falcons, and Hawks). As a golfer, I was impressed with the golf department. They call theirs the "Fairway Center." From apparel to equipment, they carry several major brands including Callaway, Nike, TaylorMade, Titleist, and Under Armour. They have everything you need to play including modern styles on shoes and apparel and some current club models, particularly when it comes to drivers and putters. They also carry clubs/sets for junior/kid golfers. If you're a college sports fan, they have golf bags with various school logos on them (not surprisingly, they are mainly SEC schools). There's a simulator where you can hit balls and try different clubs out. The staff can do club fittings and they can re-grip clubs too. When I visited, the most popular section of the store was the gun section. They stock a wide variety of rifles and handguns, ammo, and accessories (e.g. sights). If you're looking for a secure place to store your gun collection, they sell safes in various sizes. Most of the safes are big so they can accommodate rifles. For the ladies, they offer concealed carry purses in a variety of "fashionable" styles. I had fun checking out all the camo gear. Currently, this is one of three Dunham's locations in Georgia. The other two are in LaGrange and Rome. This is a nationwide chain with over 230 locations. Most of the stores are located in smaller cities like Statesboro. read more

Went in to purchase a firearm, i waited with several other people for about 20 minutes and then found one person at the register to ask for help. I gave them my weapons carry license and evidently they don't take them even though you use it everywhere else to purchase. I ask why and they said it's policy. Said I needed my license, which I didn't have because I didn't drive. So violating my rights that I was given by the permit. The individual helping me was on his cell phone the whole time messaging and reading social media (yes I could see his phone). Absolutely worst experience, I did contact corporate by email and phone, still waiting on a reply. More to follow. read more

My new favorite sporting goods store. Customer service representative Emily who waited on me was so friendly and helpful. Only place that is consistently having ammunition shipments. This visit I was able get assistance. Sadly the ammo I was shopping for was something they didn't carry or have in stock. I was given a good alternative comparable to what I asked for and left pLeased. My daughter and I looked over the sale merchandise and saw some decent deals on activewear. I have been here three times in the last couple of weeks. The first time I was there to purchase some ammunition. I waited for more than 30+ minutes for someone to show up and open the locked case. The second time I had to hunt someone down after waiting for 30+ minutes. Today I was going to purchase a handgun and some ammo but couldn't even find anyone to help. I walked around the store and did not find a single employee. (not 1) That's after hanging around the gun section for well over 30 minutes. The only employee was a young man at the register. After I got that close to the door I decided to just leave. Terrible Service. I don't see them staying around long with this type of service. I had a discussion about this with a few friends and they have had the same experience. What's going on here? read more

i waited for over 30 minutes for an employee with another gentleman so I could purchase some ammo. when an employee finally came back to the gun counter she asked us if we needed help we replied yes and she still did not come and help us another young man came back to the gun counter never asked us if we needed help He just spoke with the other later and completely ignored us so we left 10/10 I will never go in this particular store again they need to fire the whole crew and start over worst customer service I think Ive ever experience. they were not busy so absolutely no excuse. only left 1 star because I couldn't give negative stars 0 is too many!! read more

The prices and selection are great, but just like everyone else says, you can not find any employees in the store to help you. I wanted to try on some clothes and I had to search the whole store to find an employee, and the only one I could find was the cashier. She had to finish ringing someone up so that she could let me in the dressing room. That is unacceptable. Can they not afford to pay for more employees on shift? If this store closes because of sales going down, this will be the reason that people quit coming and it closes. I hope that the big wigs read this and fix it. read more

Horrible customer service! This was my 3rd attempt to make a purchase. Can never find any employees. After an hour of wandering around the store wanting to buy shoes, I finally found an employee who said she couldn't help us because she had something else to do. I literally could have picked up a case of ammo and walked out! Go broke idiots!!! read more

I have worked at this store for about a month and they are extremely unprofessional. They are short staffed and schedule 1 person for register and 1 for the rest of the store while a manager stands around and does not do anything. As employees we are expected to help every customer that walks in the door, go get things from the back, restock the store, clean up and help the line of customers trying to check out all at the same time... while getting payed little to nothing for the things we are expected to do. This specific store and managers are sexist and lazy. They make the women clean everything and do everything the men do not want to do. I have witnessed the men say "you should clean because that is only a woman's job and I don't feel like doing it". There is not a single woman manager in the store and the men get promoted over women no matter how hard women work or how long they have been there. They take advantage of the authority they have been given and y'all down on their employees. Not a good place to work or shop! read more

We came to look at a box stand spoke to two very nice young man behind the counter in the hunting department , they were very polite and explaining that they were out of stock and offered us a rain check but was not sure when they would get any more in. So we ask to speak to a manager, the manager on duty was Mr Hargrove and he would not even come out and speak to us. Very poor management if you ask me. Way to go with your management in Statesboro GA. All we wanted was a straight answer about how long our money would be tied up in a rain check not too much to ask I don't think. read more

I get aggravated every time I come in the store! There is a sign that says sale above the Yeti tumblers when you come in the door. I picked up a tumbler that has two price tags on it. They refused to honor the lower price tag. The manager, Amanda, says she cannot honor the lower price. I told her that there is a sign that says sale. She looks at it and says well there's nothing under the sign that tells what's on sale so they are really not on sale! No wonder there are more people at Hibbett's than in Dunham's Sports in Statesboro, GA. The store is very poorly run!!! read more

I had no trouble at all with customer service purchased a go kart and had plenty of help with staff at store.I will shop here again
