The serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner depending on the day. It's a little disconcerting when you pull up to my the entrance and slightly more as you step in the dining room. But the place, though worn, is spotlessly clean. The food that they prepare is all scratch made to order. So don't be impatient it's well worth the wait. My wife had corn dogs and fries. The corn dogs had a wonderful crunchy cornmeal crust that reminded me of my childhood (I'm pushing 70). I had the patty melt that had a very tasty yet unknown cheese that was so melty that I loved the sandwich. This place is a little out of the way but if you are anywhere near Johnson City it's worth the effort.

The pancakes were just ok.... They made the batter as we ordered it so it didn't have time to absorb the flour so it wasn't all that good. He said he would try a burrito next time. I loved my biscuits and gravy. The gravy was a darker color but the sausage was so flavorful and it was light in pepper which I like because I don't like pepper. The biscuit was a really great size and fluffy. The bacon is not thick cut but still Crispy and good, eggs were cooked nicely. Now on to the cheddar rounds..... I try these all over but these are the absolute closest you will get to the Pals version. They were lacking the season salt which would have made them taste like Pals. Over all I was very happy and will definitely be back!!! Also the prices were good (pic of menu (included)

I was traveling with my dog, who was a bit on edge from the long road trip and barked sporadically whenever people left the restaurant. Despite this, Aiden, my server, welcomed us with genuine kindness and patience. He was gracious, attentive, and completely unfazed by my dog's nerves, which made an already difficult day feel a little lighter. Because I was dining with my dog, I waited outside until the owner noticed me through the glass door. He immediately came out, warmly apologized for not seeing me sooner, and made sure we were comfortable. The apology was unnecessary -- if anything, it was definitely too cold to be dining outdoors, but I had no other option. Their hospitality made all the difference. As someone who lives in Atlanta, has dined at many excellent restaurants, and even wrote food reviews early in my career, I was genuinely blown away by the quality of the food. The wedge salad at The Red Fork is, without exaggeration, the best I have ever had. The fresh herbs, homemade dressing, and the addition of pickled onions created a layered, unexpected, and absolutely delicious flavor profile. I also loved the whipped pimento cheese served with what appeared to be homemade crackers and locally sourced chowchow. It was delightful -- one of those memorable bites you think about later. Their beer selection is also thoughtfully curated, representing a well‑balanced mix of local and regional craft brews -- IPAs, sours, lagers, and more. It's clear that care goes into every detail of the menu and beverage offerings, all locally sourced and seasonally influenced. I honestly can't believe such an outstanding restaurant exists in my hometown Tri‑Cities area. Between the exceptional food, the warm hospitality from both Aiden and the owner, and the overall welcoming atmosphere, The Red Fork provided the perfect end to a long and emotional day of travel. I will absolutely return, and I highly recommend it to anyone passing through or living nearby.

One of the first things we noticed was actually the one big negative this place has and why I can't give this any higher than what this is getting. So this was a cute little place where you could even get some outdoor seating, but because of the bustle this place has gotten, you can notice right away how cramped this can get. Over at some tables, you might get a little trapped if you sit their at the wrong time. It works against waiters and waitresses too because they could easy bump into tables and spill a bit of food. For example, I did notice a few chips fall on the floor on its way to a table. So if you choose to eat in, do keep that in mind. That or either eat outside or get it delivered. That being said, everything else about the place was pretty good. My brother and I got large lemonades, and their idea of large fits! We got jumbo cups of the stuff which is nice on a hot summer day. For lunch, I had the triple grilled cheese, no tomato and extra bacon while my brother went with the Reuben. When we get the food, my brother said a little prayer of grace before we began eating. I totally devoured that sandwich like it took my lunch money. It was a good sandwich with a nice char to the bread. As for the Reuben, my brother replied it was alright. Nothing bad, but nothing spectacular either. That was about fair. So overall the food's good. So is the attitude of the employees as well. I have no complaints with their customer service. So overall, good spot to eat as long as you don't mind it being a bit cramped. This is about a 3.5/5 and is what this would get if half-stars were available on Yelp. For now though, it has to settle for a 3.
