One and a half days later they called with an estimate of $700 to change all the fluids and rotate the tires. I told them I could go to Jiffy Lube for 1/3 that price and said just change the tires. The next day, day 3, we never got a call it was ready so in the afternoon we just showed up to get it. We found out they never drove it to see what the noise was. They said they checked the belts by hand because I said it might be that but did no other noise assessment. Not only are their prices ridiculously high but apparently you have to diagnose your car before you bring it to them. They sure aren't going to try to find the problem on their own.

When we brought this to their attention--referencing the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act they even advertise on their website--they took zero responsibility. Instead of standing behind their service, they left us with the damage and the cost. We always try to support local shops, but when a business does you dirty like this, it's just wrong. We stood behind them as a customer, but in the end, we got the short end of the stick. If you value your vehicle and your money, think twice before trusting this shop.

My son's vehicle fried a radiator (see review this page) and while he was letting it cool I offered to locate a mechanic. When I called they said to have him bring it in and they would help him out. Over the years as I was transferred to new commands in the service I have broken down in various cities and was taken to the cleaners. There was none of that at Southern Oregon Automotive. They were able to get him in and out at a very fair price. I mean extremely fair. I can not recommend them more highly!
