I have to wonder if the people who look down on librarians aren't maybe the ones who white-out words in library books and replace the writing with what they think is better. With no respect for library property and none whatsoever for authors. If you think can do better, write a book yourself. In the meantime, leave someone else's books alone.

The square footage of the Freedom branch may be smaller, but they are well allocated for their size. They have computers available as well as audio books, cd's and dvds. I was also impressed with the lending system they have with the rest of the Marion County libraries. The magazine of inter-location activities and programs is appropriate for all ages. They even have books for sale and even occasional sale events! As my father used to tell me, a library card is a key to the world, and beyond!

I absolutely love this library!!! Every Thursday at 10:30 AM they have baby time. They sing nursery…read morerhymes to the children and the babies really love it. I have so much fun with my son here. Being a stay at home mom, it can be hard to find activities to take your child to and even just getting out the house is a mission. I'm so grateful for this awesome community event. I hope many others can benefit from taking their children to this library. It is full of life, love, and literature. All for free. This is what makes a country great. Libraries are where it all begins. And this consequential Little Free Library was built and…read morededicated in 2019 by my beautiful friend, Safety Harbor Yelper Rachael M., as a tribute to my late, older Brother, who was an avid book lover and creative writer. The vibrant emerald green (also his Birthstone) enclosure and shiny silver tin roof is purposely located in the heart of Citrus County, where he lived, for all to flip through. Our family regularly maintains this creative book exchange to promote literacy and the amorousness of reading, by literally filling this library with some of the books from his personal collection. But, anyone may take a book or bring a book to share with their community...and inspire minds. My most favorite part of this atheneum is simple...it's sitting on the park bench, under the canopy of the old Oak tree, gathering with our family and exploring new adventures between the pages of a book.

They have a strong selection of books and what seems like a friendly staff. There is usually plenty of parking in the lot across the street. So I usually get books from this branch online and have it sent to Tavares or Mt. Dora, but I wouldn't hesitate to go in and explore or recommend it to someone else.

This location is near and dear to my heart, because it is located on Tower Road and in a close proximity to Gainesville's best schools and many families of various nationalities that use the library space in an amazing way, as a community center for learning. Tower Branch Library is also very unique because of the free language exchange program they offer. At the time, I was able to volunteer as an English language tutor to a wonderful group of Korean and Mandarin speaking adults. Along the way, making many lifetime friends and acquaintances. Also, learning some Korean in the process. As you can see, I HIGHLY recommend their language exchange program at this location. It is a rare find. Many people that I have talked to say that public libraries are a daycare center for the homeless, aging, and children. At this location, that is very far from the truth. This is the best community based, learning environment library that I have been to. The management and librarians at this location are so down-to-earth, kind, and organized. I was blown away by their professionalism throughout the year that I volunteered there. The Alachua County Library district is funded in many ways, but I do notice the public library fee on my family's monthly escrow property payment. It is not that much per month and is totally worth it.

Everyone was delightful and the atmosphere was pleasant leaving you with a very positive vibe. There were people of all ages doing their thing from toddlers with their parents enjoying the children's room. Some going into the meeting room for a conference and there was a room where they sold books for a a dollar or two or even less! There was a table with little baby plants to take one for free. There is a computer room, and private rooms that I think you can call and reserve and sit in complete quite. There is a genealogy room, a room for young adults and so much more. They have a monthly calendar with activities and events. You can take out 100 books at a time and keep them for 3 weeks. If you want to keep something longer and it is not needed by someone else you can sometimes keep it longer just call or request it online. You can also go online and request books from other libraries and they will see what they can do to try and find a book for you. They have a seed program to help you grow plants indoors if you need. They have a blood pressure monitor program that you can ask about too. This library and its programs care about the community and you. If you need a motorized scooter these they have a few for you to use while there. Marion County library is a wonderful library and makes you feel at home you should visit them soon.
