Eventually opening up to welcome even more as an all-inclusive open to all large club that puts on a variety of events with huge venue space, lavish full bar, greenroom, wreckroom, stage, parking lot, the list goes on. The Mayflower Club is a Non-Profit British-American Social Club in North Hollywood California. It's slightly tucked away across from the Victory Vineland Park and Recreation Center on the intersection of the same name (Victor Blvd/Vineland Ave). My friend Adam has his 50th Film inspired birthday here recently and Gina, Terrel and Dave were nothing short of amazing in helping us get set up the day before as well as helping keep the flow with Liane + Doug (our bartenders for the night of). Mayflower Club has tons of tables, chairs and even some booth space. A few rules to keep things preserved, clear and safe while enjoying yourself. The form to request and event is pretty detailed and the communication is stellar. It was so amazing to see all Adam's and the M.C. work come together for an magical event. Gina our doorperson for a large of the night dressed up as Mia Wallace!! Pulp Fiction realness! Terrel was really kind and subbed in for her and made sure everything was going okay while Dave was tech support via lights and sound. We had two local friends and drag queens perform for us throughout the night Miss Shell Shock (of The Bullet Bar's twice a month weekday drag show) aka Volta Charge and the Official Lil Blu Pill herself Vi'Agra - great music queues via Dave and that spotlight did it's thing. So much fun and an unforgettable night! Thank you so much Mayflower! Looking at their events coming up I'm hoping to make Valley ComicCon at the end of the month as one of their Big Band nights. He pushes veteran advocacy exactly the way you'd expect a Marine to. They have VSOs come in twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday. Pete got me in to see Hector and Paul to discuss my rating. It was a great example of a veteran looking out for another veteran and making sure we get the benefits we've earned. Thanks to Pete, Hector, and Paul, I was able to receive a substantial increase in my rating. If you're a vet, or know one, tell them about this special VFW. It's not just a place for veterans to hang out, have a drink, and bond with fellow vets. It's also a place where you can get advice, support, and real assistance from people who genuinely care about helping veterans.
