The Mayflower Club is a Non-Profit British-American Social Club in North Hollywood California. It's slightly tucked away across from the Victory Vineland Park and Recreation Center on the intersection of the same name (Victor Blvd/Vineland Ave). My friend Adam has his 50th Film inspired birthday here recently and Gina, Terrel and Dave were nothing short of amazing in helping us get set up the day before as well as helping keep the flow with Liane + Doug (our bartenders for the night of). Mayflower Club has tons of tables, chairs and even some booth space. A few rules to keep things preserved, clear and safe while enjoying yourself. The form to request and event is pretty detailed and the communication is stellar. It was so amazing to see all Adam's and the M.C. work come together for an magical event. Gina our doorperson for a large of the night dressed up as Mia Wallace!! Pulp Fiction realness! Terrel was really kind and subbed in for her and made sure everything was going okay while Dave was tech support via lights and sound. We had two local friends and drag queens perform for us throughout the night Miss Shell Shock (of The Bullet Bar's twice a month weekday drag show) aka Volta Charge and the Official Lil Blu Pill herself Vi'Agra - great music queues via Dave and that spotlight did it's thing. The venue is spacious, with good music on Saturdays, usually featuring popular hits. If you're just looking to dance and enjoy drinks with friends, it's perfectly fine. However, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone coming from outside the valley; it doesn't match the vibrant party scenes found in LA or other cities, but it fulfills the basic clubbing need. To make the most of your experience, I suggest getting on the guest list and arriving before 10:30 PM for free entry--it's $10 after that, but who doesn't like free? You can relax with a drink until the crowd starts to arrive around 11. Drink prices are standard, around $15, but they have a limited selection of beers, mainly traditional Mexican ones. He met me a couple weeks beforehand at the location to make sure he understood our needs and the problems we had in the past so we didn't repeat them.
