This is a 3-star hotel with 1-star wifi and 5-star service/location, settling in at 3.5 overall stars. I'll bump it up because three stars would be unfair to the kind people working at the hotel.
I highly recommend having the hotel book a transfer from the airport. It will save you a lot of frustration of haggling with the borderline despicable taxi drivers in Argentina. They will rip you off and then get argumentative when you call them out, so it is best to have a local book the taxi. A transfer from AEP to Duque was 25 USD. A man was waiting in the arrivals hall for us. From there, it was a short wait while he dispatched the taxi to come and collect us. The taxi was by far the best car we rode in while in Argentina (comparable to a new Hyundai Sonata). Great experience.
We asked the hotel to book us a transfer to AEP two days later and they did but not near the same level of service. A shitty black radio taxi arrived with terrible taxi driver. We came about 2 inches from smashing into a car stopped at a red light whilst going approximately 40 mph. Our price was quoted at 145 pesos and when we arrived at the airport, the taxi told us the price was 145 + 35 +15 = 205. Yes, those maths do not equal but the taxi driver basically held us hostage until we paid.
Wifi is essentially non-existent at this hotel. When we were able to connect, it moved at dial-up speeds from 2000, even late at night when traffic should have been at a minimum. The hotel has done it's best to provide plenty of outlets in the room, however, all but two of the outlets were rendered useless to us because of the tight space and the fact that we had to use plug adapters which prevented us from plugging into the power strips that were connected to the bedside table. One English TV channel - MTV.
The room was absolutely tiny. but quiet given the hotel is located on a busy road. It would have been unsuitable for any more than two nights. The (a "double" bed) was similar in size to a queen bed in the US. The air conditioning worked well, possibly too well because it was positioned above the bed and the air blew right onto the bed. We had issues both nights with the temperature. Adjusting the fan angle did not remedy the issue.
We did not have breakfast due to poor sleep on our first night which caused us to sleep in beyond breakfast time and we departed prior to breakfast time. Also note that the 'spa' is a hot tub. It is not a spa by US definition.
Staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English. The hotel is within walking distances to many shops, bars, restaurants and cafes.
If returning to Buenos Aires, we would choose to stay elsewhere. read more
