Affordable Deck and Fence (AF&D) provided a tentative schedule and were timely in completing our deck despite the weather interruptions. During the tear out (we thought this was huge) and construction of the new deck, they keep the worksite very tidy. I contacted this company for a second opinion about a quote that I received from another company (standard consumer practice to compare prices). I guess he didn't like that I sent a image to show the sizing of the deck etc. FAIR.... But my intention was to show sizing of the deck that I would like built. Apparently it's a faux pas to do!! So IN TURN, I TOOK HIS FEEDBACK AND THANKED HIM FOR IT. I IMMEDIATELY SAID THAT I WOULD GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL COMPANY AND GIVE THEM A CHANCE. DUSTIN took it upon himself to share our correspondence via text msg with the original company that I was trying to "shop around for the design". Really??? How immature. Nonetheless, buyers beware. Hire a professional company and not a company that's still in high school with high school IMMATURITY! Absolutely disgusted by the bro-mance between companies. Anyway the original company decided to no longer take on my project. Thanks Dustin for making me smarter, and allowing me to not give you or the other deck company my money!!!

Hired Apexx Landscaping (Jason Millington) for a $7,500 job -- front steps, driveway extension,…read morelanding, retaining wall, and new sod. Paid $4,900. He showed up only 4 times in 2 weeks, usually for just 1-2 hours, and the only thing completed was a small garden bed. My driveway is now unusable with materials dumped there. Doesn't answer the phone, doesn't return calls or texts. On Aug 8, he made sure we weren't home, took all his tools, and left without a single word. At first, I thought things were fine apart from the delays, and I was even recommending him to my neighbours -- I was wrong. If a contractor has issues or concerns, you talk to your client -- you don't abandon the job with no explanation and leave them with a bigger mess. Now I'm stuck paying more to redo everything. Don't fall for the positive google reviews -- they don't match the reality I experienced. Smooth talk before you pay, false promises after. Complaints filed with Toronto Police Fraud Prevention Unit, BBB, and Ontario Business Licensing. Avoid this contractor completely.
