I explained it was my first time, and felt comforted with the girl on the phone that they would take care of me. Upon arriving, the atmosphere was very modern and hip. The music was just a bit over bearing, but still enjoyable while getting haircut. The girl that cut my hair was very nice and listened to exactly what I wanted. Long story short she goes to chopping my hair taking at least 2 inches off the back and everywhere else, completely chops my bangs, they are almost an inch and a half above my brows and I had to stop her several times about how much she was taking off. She argues with me about it and at this point I can't leave I have to let her finish screwing my hair up. The one and only time I will go to this lady absolutely ridiculous and beyond frustrating. Making a mistake is one thing, covering it up and unwillingness to acknowledge it, was inexcusable. Not to mention hurtful, to a tearful boy whom recognizes her denial, and wouldn't take his hood off due to embarrassment. She refused to acknowledge or apologize to him. I will be advising all of my kids sport teams, and any Weatherford friends or associates to steer clear of her chair. I did speak with the owner who offered an apology and product to help my son feel more comfortable till it grows out. I appreciated the gesture and so did he. I clearly told her from the start I wanted the sides cut all the way up to the top line -- no fade -- with a specific length and cut on top. She started fading one side anyway. I stopped her mid-cut and corrected her. "The top is going to hang over" she said. I told her thats fine. She switched to cutting it all the way up like I asked, but left the line uneven where the sides meet the top. When I pointed out it was uneven, she said it looked fine to her and didn't fix it. She finished, barely cleaned the hair off me, gave a quick blow-over, and charged me $25. I still tipped her $5. Came back the next day to get it fixed. The other stylist saw me, left me sitting there while she went to the bathroom, then came back and knew I was there the day before and refused to fix it, saying it was Laura's responsibility. It's a quality that's hard to find in barber shops that rent out chairs and some of the big chains. It's hidden from the main roads and has an understated exterior/interior, but Kirk is one of the best traditional style barbers in the area. Haircuts are 12 bucks and he using a straight razor on the neck. Just ensure he is open at the time/day you want to go.. I recommend calling to get the hours as they have changed some over the years. Barbershops aren't like they used to be, you actually need appointments these days and that's okay. I walked in and they were polite, professional, and welcoming right away. One barber was cutting hair and the other was packing up to leave, but they worked as a team. The one who was heading out still took the time to check me in, show me where to sit, offer me a drink, and even have a real conversation. Most people would just grab their stuff and bounce, but not this guy. That kind of hospitality stands out. Danny was the barber who cut my hair, and he kept me in the loop the whole time about the wait. When he finished the client before me, he let me know he was going to clean up and be ready. And the haircut... man, he absolutely crushed it. Honestly did better than my old barber back home, and I didn't think that was even possible. The shop is clean, chill, and just a cool spot to be in. TVs playing, books on the table, and refreshments while you wait. Even the owner came in and checked me out, and he was just as professional and easy to talk to. If you're looking for a place to get a haircut, come check this spot out. If you've passed by and wondered about it, stop wondering and just give it a try.
