Now that I've split neighborhood hairs, onto the review. We attended the Haitian disaster relief fundraiser earlier this year, and it's really wonderful. Walking up the stairs, I really expected to find myself in an industrial space with an industrial vibe, but it feels like a well curated gallery space. In addition to the pieces being sold for charity, the main gallery had some great work, hung very well. Im looking forward to heading back for another opening.

The venue itself is very small and intimate, better for small groups and events than large ones. The menu created by the literary supper club was fantastic and the food itself was something you'd expect from a high end restaurant. The location of Court Tree itself was nice, the atmosphere was great and the type of thing that I can only imagine existing in Brooklyn. I plan on coming back whenever there is an event that piques my interest.

The supper club is literary themed, which warms this bookworm's heart. The space is small, pretty much a single floor in a brownstone, but just cozy enough for small events. They have a diverse lineup of food, art, music, and theatre events. I'm definitely planning to check out more events now that I've discovered this place.

The artwork was exceptional and the owner was super friendly and knowledgeable. He knew a lot about the history of the areas that the work came from and it was fascinating to learn about the Inuit people and how they live. I had tried multiple times over the course of a year, sent multiple emails only to receive bullshit emails leading me on. Claiming to offer refunds but just wasting my time and taking my money. They call themselves a supporter of the arts. But they don't support artists. They don't support people who want to support artists. In the middle of a fucking pandemic. Shame on you.

Two things artists really can thrive with are having space and community and that's what Trestle Art Space is all about. The spaces are clean, well maintained and beautiful, and the community is friendly, supportive and encouraging. If you every have the chance to work with Trestle, be it with your own studio space or attending a class there I could not recommend it highly enough.

Went to the opening of Gallery Brooklyn last night. A great addition to Red Hook's new art scene…read more It's a top notch contemporary art gallery on the main drag of Van Brunt. This place serves up fresh art in a beautiful well lit gallery space. The artist in this show were young but had ample show credits. There were four artists represented for the current show. The work by John Elliott is worth a visit to see. Composed of 100 or so different sized paintings arranged in a mathematical array of sorts. The vibe on opening night was a great mix of locals and art lovers from out of the area.

Ambience: Whimsy/cool Products: Well curated selection of jewelry, clothing, cups/mugs, lingerie. Independent designers with sweet jewelry pieces. Not a single piece of jewelry runs over $100, I don't think. I've bought my favorite current jewelry pieces from Brooklyn Collective: delicate teardrop gold earrings, a ring with a black rose. I also bought my friend's bday gift from here (a necklace with a flat semiprecious stone) and needless to say she loved it. My final verdict: The styles are contempory, the clothing a bit mod, and the jewelry eclectic; every piece selected based on character and quality, never going too high on the price point as well. My only suggestion is I wish they had much more selection of their well curated clothing and jewely.
