Last time the GPS sent me to the wrong end of Fox St; and kept rerouting me back to the same spot. Today the GPS did it's job. The front desk staff informed Dr. Blondin that I was here; and almost immediately I was ushered into an exam room. His assistant had me in two bibs to protect my clothes, asked if I wanted music, I thought I was on a cruise ship. Every knob, handle, wire, instrument in the room was covered with plastic. The Zeiss microscope was in its own sealed plastic bag. Dr. Blondin was in shortly. He explained what was going to happen today in his cheerful and reassuring voice. After a local analgesic; the work began. A dental dam was applied, then the drilling began. All the while the doctor was letting me know what was going on during the procedure. A few X-rays latter I was almost done. The X-rays showed the true picture of the bicuspid and the repair done. I'm way past the age of being in awe of anything. This endodontist office leaves me awestruck. Everyone does their job with precision and acumen. If you need a great endodontist - This is the place to go to first. What's that old saying? "you've seen the rest; now see the best". I'm paraphrasing.

Hardly talking to each other, but seeming to know what needed to be handed back and forth without much verbal communicating. They refused to bill my insurance. The staff said they would charge a flat $1400 for a root canal and would give me an itemized bill that I could submit to my insurance. I confirmed again with my insurance the day before that Dr. Magda was in-network. I went in for the root canal and temporary filling because she doesn't do the post, core, crown or permanent fillings. They took an x-ray before going into the procedure room. They said everything went well afterwards and it was done in under 30 minutes. 3 days later I woke up with a bad tonsil infection, worst Albany Med Urgent Care had ever seen. It was concluded by multiple physicians that it was related to the root canal since it was a bottom tooth; whether the tooth was infected and Dr. Magda didn't catch it or I caught the infection at the office. I called Dr. Magda's office as soon as they opened and the receptionist said she would speak with the doctor to let her know. Surprisingly, I never even got a phone call back to check on me or ask me to come in to check the tooth/root canal. My medical doctors and primary dentist monitored the infection and tooth. Long story short, almost 6 months after said root canal I had to have my tonsils removed because the swelling never went away even though the infection was resolved. To make matters worse, when I submitted my dental claim to my insurance, Dr. Magda managed to get her contract with my insurance cancelled retro to just days before my procedure. I find it hard to believe they suddenly had this major update to their contract. More likely, they called to cancel because I disagreed with them not billing my insurance as a network provider. I requested a copy of my record, but it was missing notes about calling after the procedure. When I called to inquire they had no record of me ever calling about an infection. Cover up at its best! I don't understand the hype surrounding how great this office is. Think twice before you schedule a procedure here.

He reviewed the report from my endodontist that performed the root canal due to an infection in this tooth and Dr. Z said it sure was a bad infection! This crown was recently put in by another dental practice and was left untreated for months after it was sensitive to hot & cold temperatures. "Batman" said I had too much going on with my teeth and that he would not treat me. My lower jaw and gums have been hurting for a while due to impacted wisdom teeth that 2 oral surgeons are afraid to extract and other specialists misdiagnosed me with TMJ. Due to the fact that I have problems , he stated that my case is too complicated and he referred me to a specialist, which is defined as the branch of dentistry that deals with the restoration and maintenance of oral function by the replacement of missing teeth and other oral structures by artificial devices. Note that I do not have any missing teeth and that Dr. Joel Zaritski didn't even take the time to look at my in my mouth and at my teeth. I even asked, "you mean you wouldn't even do a filling out some cosmetic bonding?" NO he answered, nothing as he stood as far away from me as he could with his arms crossed! Make sure your dental work doesn't take much work or intelligence as this practice doesn't seem to want to work, think or do business with someone who needed a bit of compassion! She also personally made an appointment the next morning with an oral surgeon to remove the tooth. Not only was Dr. Pai amazing so was her assistant Kathleen. Kathleen was so flexible about getting me in fast and understood the severity of the pain. I would go back to that office in a heartbeat and would recommend them to everyone.

Uses technical medical jargon, and when asked for clarification in layman's terms, proceeds to comment about lack of knowledge on my part for what needs to be done. Older blonde haired woman at the front desk is completely miserable to deal with. Can't answer a simple insurance question without a snarky rhetorical comment in response. Nothing was revealed ,A second opinion from this dentists colleague found nothing. Mind you this was close to $2000 worth of dental care. Had a retreat done in New Jersey by a specialist to the tune of about $1700. It was found that the tooth was cracked and needed to come out that was another $1700 now for the implant which was 2800$ for the stud and 2000$ for the tooth. All in all this came from a botched root canal that I had done in this office the money and pain that I have experienced will never be rectified. My advice go to a specialist if you're going to have any dental work done.....
