My husband and I, brothers-and-sisters-in-law and niece just spent 3 nights in the Duval serviced apartments. The Duval is located in the old city of Warsaw and is positively charming. There are 4 serviced studio apartments, and each one is decorated completely differently. There is the traditional Polish room, the Japanese room, the glass room and the retro room. Each room is extremely large, containing a queen-king size bed, a sofa with coffee table, a desk, a bureau, armoire, kitchenette and spacious bathroom. In addition to an Italian restaurant on the ground floor, there is a tea room on the first floor (second floor for Americans) that serves unbelievable hot chocolate of varying types, as well as teas, coffees and sweets. The location of the hotel could not be better. While within the walls of the old city, it is near enough to the taxi drop-off that the walk, even with suitcases, is only a couple of minutes (taxis and cars are not allowed in the walls, for the most part). Restaurants, bars and shops abound within easy walking distance. But what really made our stay special was the kind attention of the owner, Agnieska. She met us at the taxi drop-off and escorted us to the hotel, she booked our return taxi to the airport, she gave us recommendations regarding things to do and restaurants. If we ever have the good fortune to find ourselves in Warsaw again I would not even try to find another hotel. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!! read more
