The office staff are friendly, and the dental hygienists are efficient and kind. Some staff have been employed for decades, and this speaks to the "well-oiled machine" of the office as a unit. Later I found out this wasn't true, and have to pay for the visit fully out of pocket. When I raised my concerns, instead of hearing empathy or even an acknowledgment of the misunderstanding, I felt dismissed. Erin has consistently come across with attitude, and when I received a voicemail and phone call from Arlene, the tone felt accusatory rather than understanding. Even a simple "I'm sorry for the mix-up, unfortunately that wasn't the case" would have gone a long way. I understand the balance is my responsibility but it would've been nice at least knowing that leadership will review the previous verbiage used so the team can avoid similar misunderstandings for future patients. Instead I got "but like I said, this is your responsibility to know your benefits just like it is outlined in all the forms that you signed". The dentists are the reason this is a 3-star review and not lower, because the clinical care is excellent. But after this experience with the administrative staff, I no longer feel comfortable continuing as a patient here.

So I haven't needed to see Dr Tsai for a while but I always feel especially comfortable in his care If needed. In the meantime hygenist Sally has been doing an incredible job , as always, keeping my teeth clean and in good shape while watching out for any problems, EG no more fives and sixes , If you get back drift, and very few cavities for someone who is prone to them. I have very high anxiety when it comes to any dental procedure, and I also have extremely sensitive gums and an overall low pain tolerance. I also go in for regular deep cleanings, which are never easy for me, but the staff is always understanding, especially when I flinch or tear up from the discomfort. The only thing I'd hope to see improved is the way my sensitivity is addressed during treatment--I understand it's unusual to be this sensitive, but frequent comments about it can sometimes make me feel more self-conscious. That said, I know they mean well and are doing their best to keep me calm. Dr Burke was able to replace my fillings and turns out I did not need a root canal or crown. The dental assistant and dentist herself where very nice people. I became ill and missed my appt. The front office sent me a message telling me that they had "waived" a cancellation fee. The second time I had to reschedule due to my immune system being weak and vulnerable I had to cancel a second time. I couldn't afford to have dental work done while my immune system was weak and vulnerable. I received a bill today and I was charged $225 which I believe was imposed by "Murieta" she attends the front office and does billing. I wonder if the owner (dentist/associates) are aware that she is charging patients "no show" fees regardless of valid reasons. Then again I have NEVER been charged a "no show fee" by all the dentist I have seen in my 40 years of seeing a dentist. I sent them a letter telling them that they have lost a patient as I don't plan on returning for dental care.
