I went camping over Labor Day weekend. I noticed sharp pain on my back tooth. It was horrible. I took 3 Tylenols every 4 hours to help reduce the pain. Tylenol only helped 50% of the pain and I hard time sleeping. There was no cell service at the camping site. Upon my return back home, I did not hesitate to call Dr. Lacrampe's office. Marie, the receptionist, was able to make an appointment the following week. Thank you for the great customer service for a semi-emergency visit. I knew the tooth needed to be extracted. At my appointment, Dr. Lacrampe examined the back tooth and agreed it needed to be removed. Apparently, I had a big abscess, and my tooth was still loose. He and his SUPER-STAR assistant, Tracy, were able to help calm my anxiety. I hate getting shots. Tracy held my hand to comfort me. Both DR. And Tracy distracted me by talking about life while the procedure was being done. P.S. I'm not sure why recently a few YELPERS gave Dr. Lacrample's office low reviews. Went here once. Was absolutely the worst dental office I've ever been to. Told me to be here 15 minutes early. Made me wait an hour before I finally saw someone. The person who cleaned my teeth did nothing but complain for an hour. Literally zero people want to come to a dentist and get an hour of complaining from a hygienist. Silence is perfectly fine. But constant complaining - who in their right mind wants to pay to hear this the whole time. Then they tried to sit me down to see what they could milk out of my insurance. If this place offered me free service I'd decline. Worst, by far, I have ever been to. Then on top, they have the nerve to email me about their "exciting changes!" The only exciting change I'd ever want to see from this place is them going out of business. read more

The one I paid for, I was dismissed and told to go to a regular dentist. My gums rejected the graft and they ignored every call. This office cares about the $$$. Shame. read more

I saw periodontist Dr Etienne P. Lacrampe in consultation for a resorption tooth defect and his office requested that I provide a review. On 8/4/25, my primary dentist found a resorption tooth defect, took x-rays and a photo, then referred me to Dr Lacrampe. This asymptomatic defect was found incidentally and the tooth was viable. Even before my consultation with Dr Lacrampe 2 days later on 8/6, his office manager relayed Dr Lacrampe's preliminary opinion, that he would probably recommend tooth extraction followed by an implant. On 8/6 I saw Dr Lacrampe, he did an exam and a CBCT. He gave me a diagnosis of "extensive invasion of resorption" and he felt the long-term prognosis for the tooth was "poor to hopeless". Dr Lacrampe recommended extraction and implant as the only reasonable option. Since I am a retired healthcare professional, I pushed him for other possible options. He quoted my wife and I a "15-20% success at 1 year" involving multiple specialty procedures with a root canal required first. Clearly, this was not a reasonable alternative option. I then sought another opinion at the UCSF Dental program. My primary dentist and myself were so glad I did! After preliminary consultation with UCSF Dental, the consensus felt that extraction and implant was not an ideal first approach. UCSF felt that my tooth could be saved by a combined multidisciplinary approach. Their review of the CBCT and other records was that the resorptive defect was external, localized and not extensive into the pulp and did not need an initial root canal. Thereafter, I had a same day combined procedure involving a UCSF restorative dentist and periodontist. A gum flap was created, the resorptive granulation tissue removed, the defect filled and gum flap sutured. My recovery was painless, uneventful and the gums well healed. The prognosis for procedure-free tooth survival is excellent. UCSF Dental saved me an extraction and implant, with no further procedures planned, all at a much lower cost than that proposed by Dr Lacrampe. My primary dentist was surprised at Dr Lacrampe's recommendation for extraction and implant, but also glad I received the best dental care at UCSF. I would be very wary if I saw Dr Lacrampe for tooth resorption and he recommended extraction followed by implantation. read more

Look, I know going to the periodontist for a gum graft is not the most exciting thing but I was truly blown away with how professional and friendly Dr. Lacrampe and his staff were. The procedure itself was smooth and Dr. Lacrampe kept me updated on what was happening. Thankfully recovery wasn't too bad either and they called to checked up on me in the afternoon on the first day. While I hope not to have to go to a periodontist again in the future, if I do I'll definitely go back to this office! read more

Dr LACRAMPE was recommended to me by my regular dentist. I had an infection in my right front tooth in the gum. line. First the consultation was a shock in that it was going to cost me $6000. He told me I had three infected gums and because he was recommended by my dentist I went ahead and had it done. That was in March. Since then, I have had chronic pain and significant swelling in my lips. I have been to a dermatologist and have been treated for six months. It is some better but nowhere near what they should look like. I have done some research in i belief I may have nerve damage. He gave me so much Novacaine that my lips still feel numb. The tooth that in which cleaned out the infection, now and then gives me a jolt. I was not impressed with his office at all would never recommend the doctor or the office. read more

I got a graft done. I had multiple complications. The doctor kept reassuring it was normal (for example, the sutures came off the roof of my mouth on the first day- no that is not supposed to happen, they sutures it for a reason, but they said it was normal). The graft initially took but then receded. One was particularly bad, it basically went back to the way it was. I pointed it out and he again said everything looked great and that it was normal for that to happen. I think he thought he could convince me that it was great when it clearly wasn't. I wouldn't have paid all the money and gone through the experience if we were expecting it to go back the way it was. Honestly, I would have been okay with it receding as I know it is a known risk and not necessarily his fault. But the doctor kept falsely reassuring me and exaggerating how great the graft was at every follow up. The last visit, it was so obviously not great that he completely lost credibility as he tried to convince me it looked great. Just admit it didn't work! Im not dumb. He is a nice guy, but i wouldn't trust him for an honest opinion of his own work. read more

My visit to a periodontist was due to pain and lesions that appeared on the right side of my jaw. Dr. LaCrampe carefully listened to my concerns and concluded that I most likely had oral shingles, which was a relief. A cancer survivor always worries about recurring cancer. His examination was thorough, and he seems very skilled. I may not need a return visit at this time, but he impresses me as the kind of doctor I would again see if needed. read more

This review is so low as the office is questionably unethical as it appears they did not record a followup office visit and I feel that they overcharged me by $2600! I have spoken to the Dr. and the front office person who handles the money, to no avail. I paid $2600 in cash that has mysteriously vanished from their records! My mom needed a dental implant due to a loose front tooth. My dentist referred her to Dr. Lacrampe. My mom had bone implant. Two weeks later, she had suture removal. The staff who removes stitches has a severe tremor on both hands and almost cut my mom's lips. The office scheduled my mom's follow up visit, then cancelled the appointment at last minute then rescheduled a week later. The staff pre-collected money in cash at that follow up visit and had me sign the visit notes stating that the bill was paid in full for all future visits. Then on the next visit they denied that they received the cash or that there was a follow up visit! Such a visit they admitted to us is routine practice after suture removal for their office. Unfortunately, my copy of the paperwork has been misplaced due to home renovation. This review is not a criticism of the Dentist's professional abilities, just a warning to people about questionable billing practices and lack of documentation. read more

I'm two for two this month! I'm honestly not great about reviewing as much as I mean to but it's days like today where I'm so grateful to have found someone that I was so impressed with that I feel compelled to share. I recently went to an oral surgeon and reviewed him that night and I'm doing the same tonight after seeing Dr. Lacrampe today. To me (and I imagine most people) teeth issues can be nerve wracking and finding someone you feel you can trust can make a world of difference. Dr. Lacrampe was extremely knowledgeable with my (uncommon) problem presented to him and he came up with a game plan for me that was well thought out. I could tell he actually put time and care into figuring out a resolution for a complicated case. He was kind, compassionate, and funny (which was a nice bonus). He was gentle with the exam and didn't make me feel rushed. He took his time explaining things/options to me and answering my questions. Additionally the office was clean and the staff were extremely nice! I highly recommend him after my visit today, so much so that I'm planning to have my mom make an appt. for an issue she's been having. That's a pretty high endorsement! read more

The surgery was quick, only kept me from work for the day, and never caused me an ounce of pain during or after the procedure.
