It can be hard to get to from town as it is at the top of a steep hill but face it most things in Cornwall are either up or down rather than across - it is good for the calf muscles. They have a fairly good selection of wristwatches which make good presents, and also sell second-hand watches, but the real value for money lies in the repair service. Battery changes on watches can be performed essentially while you wait and are very cheap. This is much better than the only other provider in town H Samuel who invariably decide to send it away to preserve the 'splashproof' only to return it to you 3 weeks later (and £25 down) and tell you that it is no longer watertight and they could not re-effect the seal adequately. More complicated services are on a collect basis but provided within a good timescale (usually within a week) and at a fraction of the cost of other providers. Excellent service from a couple who have been in the business for a long time. Inspires trust.

Over the last few years there have been increasingly big name appearances at the hall for Cornwall including Ken Dodd, Derren Brown and Jethro. There is a Pantomime every year which is generally the best in Cornwall. In the daytime the theatre is sometimes used for a flea market if there is no show on in the daytime. This theatre delvers a great service to the people of Cornwall and it has little competition of a similar size in the local area.
