I love this place. It is spacious, bright, and inviting. It represents an international group of barbers, who know and respect their profession and their customer. You don't see an unhappy face here. I went to a couple of places in downtown Walpole. I won't name them out of compassion for their failing businesses. Nobody likes to shop around services if you enjoyed them the very first time. It's almost like having a great GF. But I had to do it until I went to Dynasty. Ingy is a very good barber and she makes you feel very comfortable. Funny coincidence, my adult son also getting his hair cut by her! The coffee is just a little sign of customer appreciation. I think it's a beautiful Oriental tradition. I needed a haircut today since most if not all barber shops are closed on Sundays. I normally would go to my barber, but he wouldn't be available till Tuesday and I had a job interview on Monday. Was in norwood and found this place on Yelp.it had five stars with decent amount of reviews with pictures, so I thought this was going to be pretty good if not a great haircut. I made an appointment online for a time that worked for me. They had a parking lot which was good. I got there half an hour early and was greeted twice. The second time I was greeted the barber had mentioned I can work with anyone, so you don't have to wait. I said sure why not since it was my first time there anyways. And that was the beginning of the end... I told the barber I wanted a skin fade combover, take half an inch from the top. The barber confirmed, so I thought it was going to be easy from there. Spent maybe 10 minutes on the "fade" and started to work on the top. That's where things started to get cloudy. The barber chopped off most of my hair and there was nothing to comb over. It looked as if there was a bush left in the middle of my head. I could tell the barber was sensing I was feeling some type of way after the the gel was applied. The barber said, "I didn't put the gel on correctly, let's do a wash and you can do it." After the wash I took the gel and did it myself. I was left speechless as I did not know what to say. I tried telling the barber what to do to clean it up a little, but it was pretty lost at that point. What really got me feeling real salty was the end. When I was about to pay for the bill, the barber had said, "did you walk in or have an appointment? Oh appointment right." I look to the right there was a sign that stated walk in $25, appointment $27... There were about 7 barbers working, maybe I just got the wrong one with the wrong type of hairstyle with the wrong type of hair, but I definitely learned a lesson. My sons first hair cut at 14 months. The barber was extremely aggressive pushing his head down to get the back, and holding in place, had zero patience with him and did not just trim his hair like I asked. He cut the front way too short and said "oh". It's not even straight. He seemed so annoyed at my son. He kept making faces like he was frustrated that my 14 month old was moving. They advertise for all ages but he was so aggressive. Definitely would not recommend for little ones . So disappointed. read more

I was introduced to Dynasty by my two boys, ages 18 and 24, so I knew it would be cool I've been 5 times and had a different person cut my hair each time, but all were GREAT! One cool thing they do is offer an espresso....nice touch. This last time I had Chris cut my hair. He's the owner and he said something that stuck in my mind. He tells all his barbers to take their time to make sure the customer gets the haircut and look they were expecting. Why? If you give a good haircut, the person will tell 2 people. They give a great haircut but more important than that, they are kind and endlessly patient with my 4 year old son who has Down syndrome. They are very clean and spacious inside. I showed up a few minutes early and Chris was ready to go 10 minutes early. I explained that I was getting married in a 2 months and wanted to figure out my style. Very nice guy and a master of his craft. He was able to cut exactly how I described and he showed me ways of styling my hair I had never even thought of. This is not one of those places that tries to force your natural part further up the top of your head, he moved mine down and it looks so much better! Blow dried, put product in and used a single razor to shave my neck. Note, he replaced the razor.. not everyone does that. I stopped in to get my 8 year old son's hair cut and can not say enough about how great this place is. The girl that greeted us (I forget her name!) was super friendly and welcoming. Charbel cut my son's hair and was so nice and is obviously great with kids. His haircut came out great and my son (a tough critic!) commented that he looks 'so cool'. This barber shop is a hidden jewel, so much so that I hesitate writing this out of fear it will become so overrun that I will not be able to get a prompt cut, but when a business is run as professionally as this one is, I am compelled to tell the tale. I have been coming to Dynasty for close to a year now. In my (gulp!) 41 years on this planet, I've been exposed to a few different kinds of establishments for my hair grooming needs: 1) a long time ago, some old school barbers who were well past retirement. I lost a piece of my ear to one of those chaps. 2) Deeply discounted "student" studios, where I am sure I got what I paid for, which wasn't much. 3) Upscale salons, during my "clubbing years" which blasted house music and emptied my wallet, and left me with hairstyles no man could be proud of. I wish I could go back in time and punch myself in the face for some of the decisions I made during those years. And 4) middle of the road, average quality shops where at times you wonder why the person cutting your hair is in this business. So, I'm qualified to make an assessment here. Dynasty doesn't fit into any of these categories. It is as if a new, nearly perfect category has been created. Dynasty is run astoundingly well. Ample parking outside, a sparkling clean, well lit, stylish-while-not-being-over-the-top interior, a pleasant waiting area with clean, comfortable leather chairs, and a crew of skillful yet affable masters who artfully execute their trade. At the center of the action is the owner, Chris. I don't know how he does it, but Chris is able to concentrate with precision on the cut he is doing, while occasionally, but not too often, giving a quick direction to someone on his crew, to keep the operation moving. He does it all with a great sense of humor too. It is really something to see. It's like a symphony. On top of all of this, they charge reasonable rates. At the end, though I am no George Clooney, I leave feeling like I am. I mean really, what more can you ask for? I'm really happy I have a place like this just a few minutes away from my house, and I plan to keep going here for the foreseeable future. Cheers. read more

He first cut my hair at Chris and Sam's Barbershop in Norwood (that he co-owns with his brother Sam), and now I go to Dynasty Barbershop that he recently opened in Walpole. For me, there is no other barber that cuts hair like Chris. Right from the very 1st haircut he seemed to just know exactly how my hair needed to be cut. For me, this was never the case with other barbers, so the day I met Chris was the last day I needed to look for a barber.
