My feet are in a luke warm bucket, that is elevated on a silverware drawer. The massage on the chair is incredibly weak and it feels like it's hooked up to a dying battery source. My nail tech, Mary, asked me if I wanted a cut down and what shape. I told her and she proceeds to laugh at my broken toe nail. I'm so glad that my de stressing moment is funny to her. I'm also so sick of going to nail salons and being done with my pedicure in 15 minutes. My appointment was for 1615 and I was scolded for walking in early. It is now 1633 and I have foam sandals on because she doesn't want me to wear my sandals. The quality of work that happens in nail salons these days is quite low. My nails weren't cut to the shape I requested, they are all very very short and unevenly shaped. They look embarrassing. There is no art that goes into this and I should have just stayed home and did my nails there. One star for location and one stars for climate control and cleanliness. 10/10 will not be back here again.

I found this very strange... this is what I'll call a "dry" mani... my tech didn't soak my nails/cuticles, so when she groomed my cuticles, it was completely dry. I've never had that done before and got worried. It was uncomfortable, and as I expected would happen, my cuticles bled. My tech's polish and design work seemed good at the time but I noticed after I left that one of my thumbs is crooked. Unfortunately, she also didn't do a good job capping/sealing the ends of my nails and it definitely had an impact: less than 1.5 weeks in and my nails are chipping. The worst part: the most severe chipping is happening to one of the nails with design. I'm so so disappointed. Gel usually lasts a month on me, and it's only been a week and a half. :( I can't remember what the base mani cost was, but I remember when she itemized, she charged me for my existing gel removal (usually I've only seen that done if I'm not getting new gel done), and she charged for each different nail color (I used 3 different colors; I've never been charged just for different colors before), and separate for the simple design (expected). Total came to $90 + tip. For a gel mani that lasted less than 1.5 weeks that wasn't very "spa" (didn't soak my cuticles before grooming, made my cuticles bleed and didn't clean it up, barely any hand massage), I'm honestly really disappointed, frustrated if I'm being honest. For a $100 gel mani, this should not have chipped so soon.

I've been every month for over a year and the first few appointments were great and I loved my nails. Over time I liked them less, but I didn't want to put in the effort to find a new salon just yet. But over time I noticed the tech I would always book with seemed inconvenienced to do my nails. I do understand they work hard which is why I tipped 20% everytime, even if I didn't love them, and I was polite and appreciative. Secondly my nails kept breaking super low, even though the gel is supposed to make them sturdier. Now after going to a new salon, I realize it's because she was making them too thick which was causing stress to the nails. Also, they've pushed my appointment back 3 times, and once even moved me to Walnut Creek. And while they called to ask, there was never a courtesy discount or credit offered even though they were inconveniencing me. Yet when I asked to change my color the last time I was there, they didn't have time for that, and they hadn't even applied the color yet. Also, they advertise "flawless nails" yet the times I've asked if something could be fixed they get irritated and gaslight you. I had chrome and I discovered bubbles which I called and asked to be fixed, especially because it's an upcharge. When I got there, they acted like they couldn't see the bubbles. Another time I got a red and the polish came off the tips in about 4 days. When I went back the receptionist had the same color and showed me hers were chipping too and blamed it on the polish. I asked her how long she had it and she said 3 weeks and laughed, so how is that the same as 4 days?? And if the polish is poor quality why have it as an option. When the tech touched up my nails she was clearly pissed and rough with my nails. I think the final straw was them telling me I would need to pay $40 more for single color because my nails are considered long and take more time. While I do understand that, designs are 120/125 and are allocated 2 hours, yet I'd have to pay $140 for single color? Yeah, no thanks. I regret being too lazy to find a new salon sooner.

My previous manicure was clear. There were remnants of clear polish on my nail bed. The manicurist didn't remove the clear polish with polish remover. She filed the polish away in stead and painted over the remaining polish. I didn't make a fuss. It's barely noticeable since the polish is clear. However removal of the polish should be a given. I still topped 20 percent.
