Woman tried to upsell me multiple times and I asked for an acrylic fill and she took off all my nails by ripping them off when I asked for a fill in the first place. I got NO color on my nail and just chrome. My total was $97, I've never paid that much for nails in my life. Painful and unenjoyable experience. Would not recommend.

Everything was great: clean, friendly, and good selection of colors. Unfortunately, during the manicure, the technician used the NAIL FILE across the top of my nail beds instead of using the appropriate nail buffer. I didn't realize how badly damaged my nail beds were until I took of the polish. It RUINED my nail beds, it left scratches and grooves across all of my nail beds!

Deena did a fantastic job on my nails when I came in with some dip nails that I wasn't happy with. She took her time to make sure everything was just how I wanted it and was very sweet! Will definitely be booking with her again

Again!! I am on the search for a new nail salon. This place is Terrible. I got a dip manicure and it was the worst ever. The woman put like 5 layers of product on, she didn't clean my cuticles, or give me any lotion/massage. On top of this got my mom a pedicure. She recently had a foot injury so she didn't even need massage just clean up and paint. Her big toenail was crooked and they didn't remove ingrown or cuticles. THEN... the price. Yes, it's Orinda BUT $85 for this service!!!? Needless to say I will never go back and am telling my yelp friends to save your wallet and your nails.

I'm surprised I haven't updated my review since Nina took over! I recommend all of my friends to see Nina at Color Me Nail Spa--she is truly the best. She has a great personality, does excellent work, and always makes the experience enjoyable. They also offer, by far, the best pedicures in Orinda. You can tell she's put a lot of care into the salon as well, updating the chairs, floors, and overall space. I've been coming here for the past five years, and under her ownership, it's better than ever. Highly recommend! read more

I love this place. The owner, Nina, is a talented nail artist. I come here every 2-3 weeks, and bring my step-daughter when she is in town. They are so friendly, very clean, and they have a fantastic selection of colors for dip, gel, and regular polish. I can always relax here and enjoy my appointments. I've been coming here with my granddaughter about every two weeks, and we've always enjoyed it--especially since the new ownership. Unfortunately, our last visit was very disappointing. They were having water temperature problems and couldn't get it warm, so instead of replacing the liners, they just kept poking the bags to drain out cold water and pour new warm water in. Both my granddaughter and I developed nail fungus afterwards. Neither of us has ever had this issue before, so it was quite upsetting. I understand things can happen in this line of business, but the bags really should have been changed. Sadly, because of this experience, we may not be returning. read more

If you go here, Deena is the absolute best. She is the owner, and really provides the highest quality service, and attention to detail. Nina is the BEST! I broke my nail vertically and it was bleeding and I was in so much pain so I made an appointment. Nina worked her magic and stabilized the nail with dip so it could grow out. Fast forward a few weeks, the dip is starting to wear off and she was able to get all of it off without further damaging my broken nail! Pure magic. Can't wait to see her again read more

Made an appointment a week prior to get a $50 mani pedi on a Friday afternoon. This place has automatic massage chairs and may not be as fancy as the others but the technicians are efficient and courteous. Right as you enter the front desk person checks you in and tells you to choose a polish color. Some of the bottles looked like they were close to being dried out so I picked one that was full. They have the high end polish brands like Opi and Essie along with the standard ones. The overall experience was pleasant. Hot bubbles from jets in a tub massaging your feet, an automatic massage chair with shiatsu balls rolling up and down your back. They have you pay before they paint your nails since it might take a while to dry. It has been about a week and my mani pedi are still intact. Overall, a pleasant experience. Beware of Color Me Nail Spa in Orinda... I went for a mani/pedi a week ago. The staff was pleasant and the service seemed ok --though a couple of my fingernails are now peeling (probably from the manicurist sawing back and forth to shape my nails) and my nails are stained from the polish indicating the base coat was subpar quality. Anyway, the real problem was revealed as I tried to pay for the service. I had a $55 gift certificate from my husband for my birthday. The person staffing the register refused to honor the gift certificate saying it was from the former salon, Smiley Nail Spa. Apparently the place switched ownership a month after my husband bought the certificate, less than a year ago. However, everything --including the phone number-- is the same so if you aren't paying attention you will be caught unawares like me. The salon switching owners shouldn't matter since when you buy a business you also buy the liabilities (which gift certificates are) from the seller. My husband was a small business broker who facilitated the sale of many nail salons so I know this is standard practice. Anyway, Color Me Nail Spa refused to honor the gift certificate (which had no expiration date and it was less than a year old) and so I ended up having to pay for the mani/pedi again. The person at the register said Smiley Nail Spa moved to Walnut Creek and that they would honor the gift certificate there--which I have yet to confirm. Note there weren't any signs on the door or at the register indicating the change of ownership and the person who scheduled my mani/pedi said nothing about Color Me not honoring the gift certificates from Smiley. I paid and left feeling ripped off but I did, of course, tip the manicurists 20% figuring it wasn't their fault. I am leaving this review as a warning to others. Take your business elsewhere! I sure am! read more

I made reservations for three persons to get treatments, and for my treatments to be with Deena. The three of us arrived and only two nail technicians were at the spa. It took over two and a half hours to complete my pedicure and nail dip. The technician lied to me about how much time it would take to finish my nail dip after finishing my pedicure. I missed an appointment I still had to pay for. I hate having my time being disrespected. Halfway through my nails, Deena walked in moments after another customer. I told her I had been waiting for her because I booked a reservation with her. She told me she had to take special care of this other woman. Apparently my reservation meant nothing. I have been to this nail spa many times. I have had my nails done by Deena many times. I tip so well many of the technicians are surprised when I tell them they don't have to share their tips with the others. I don't understand why they would burn a customer like me. I'm off to find a professional to tip. read more

This was my first time trying a nail salon in the Walnut Creek area, and for $75+tip, I'm not sure it was worth it. To be completely honest, I was so happy when I first saw my acrylics. But after I left the salon, I was shocked to see that they didn't bother to clean the acrylic residue around my nails. I asked for squared shaped nails and the lady that shaped my nails did half of them slightly coffin shaped and the other half square. On some of my nails, there is acrylic running off the sides, which distorts the shape of the nail. I am extremely upset about this. The lady that painted my nails did a decent job, I'm not too mad at the work she did. But, the tips of my nails are also super chunky, and I was wishing that they would have filed them down just a little bit more because they look extremely thick. It also took them almost 2 hours to paint my nails. I do understand that I have designs and French tips but I was hoping for the process to be a little bit quicker. I'm not sure I would recommend this place to friends. I am writing this review to let you know what it's like. The workers there are very friendly but I'm not sure that the work they do is worth the time and money that I paid. I hope this helps. The photos shown are 5 days after getting my nails done. Although it's been 5 days, that does not justify all the things that I've found wrong with them. read more

I stopped getting my nails done to save some money. But for a special occasion I had to be head to toe perfect. Excited that they opened at nine I made my way to attempt a walk in. Teresa had an appointment at nine but advised that I make an appointment for ten being that the other nail technicians would be present. Fortunate enough they walked in as I chose my nail colors and they assisted me in my mani, pedi. Both were extremely attentive and meticulous with precision as they worked on me. They took their time and did not rushed. As others came and went for walk ins or appointments the ladies handled each customer with the same mannerism as a returning or new client. Plenty of gel colors to chose from. The salon is chic with pedicure chairs that give the best massages. Left with a "smiley" on my face. read more

I want to start off with, I hate having to write bad reviews...however I think this needs to be…read moreshared. I was unaware of there being two locations, I had just went to the nearest one. I also booked with Telma because my normal wax lady did not have the availability I wanted and I refuse to go to EWC!! My first interaction of texting with Telma was bit of a red flag. She did ask for me to come earlier, but I guess since I didn't reply fast enough, that she had booked another client w/in 15 minutes of waiting for my response. When I got there for my appointment she was not there and I had to wait for her to come into the building. Once she got inside she had to prep then I got on the table and the waxing started. I was already kind of taken back by the fact that she was using the kind of wax that requires the paper strips. I am a regular wax / sugaring client so I know the pain the comes with it, but this pain was so much more intense. Once the waxing was finished and I had gotten into my car, I instantly was uncomfortable. When I used the restroom it burned just to wipe, I had my husband look down there and there was multiple pink / red spots from my skin being ripped. I am having to constantly put neosporin on those areas and be super gentle with it. I recommend doing your research before coming and maybe don't book a Brazilian here.

I know nothing about the area, but I stumbled upon Sole's yelp page and it said that they were offering $20 off to book with Chelsea. I called and without asking, was told the Chelsea was one of the two stylists available during the date and time I requested. Perfect! Guy, who answered the phone was friendly and accommodating and asked a lot of questions about what I wanted to ensure I would have a good experience. It made me feel like they were very professional, and he really talked Chelsea up, saying she was super experienced, but just new to this particular salon, hence the yelp promo. He also gave clear parking instructions on the phone, which I appreciated. The atmosphere was really clean and welcoming, they immediately offered me water or tea. Chelsea was great. I wasn't particular about what exactly I wanted, but she listened and made suggestions and I totally trust her judgement. She was really calculated and took her time with me. I am sure I was her last appointment of the day, but I didn't feel rushed at all. She genuinely wanted to do a great job and I looked and felt great at the end of it. Like I said, I don't live in the area and I only get my hair cut once every two years, but I would still highly recommend this place and Chelsea. So if you do live in the area and need a haircut, give her a try.

I am super happy with Smiley Nail Spa's customer service, ultra clean salon and their amazing array of colors and brands to choose from! Great place to get nails done. Deena is amazing. This nail shop has great energy. Would love it if they expanded their services. Reasonable prices and extraordinary service! Most importantly, cleanliness and sanitation. So glad to have found this nail shop. Definitely returning and recommending to everyone I know. I've been here four times for a mani & pedi since the first day they opened. From the moment you step inside, you can tell this salon pays attention to detail - it's so cute and welcoming! I recently had the volcano pedicure, and it was pure bliss. Seriously relaxing and my feet feel amazing. But the real star of the show for me is Nina. If you're looking for flawless Gel X nails, she is your go-to artist! Updated review for a recent visit. Long story short. They rushed to the next appointment and left me with two different colors each hand when I specifically told them I didn't like the color. And they fooled me when I was there I didn't pay attention the three nails each hand are still the same color I didn't like. Now I'm in New York attending a wedding all I can think of is my nails are in different colors! such bad experience they think their customers are not smart. Not coming back. read more

Easy to make appointments same day and friendly manicurists. They always do a high quality job, especially with regard to gel manicures. No peeling for weeks. Due to the Contra Costa shelter in place it's been three weeks since my gel mani and my nails are still in beautiful condition. Thankfully I happened to choose a neutral color, but no peeling or discoloration - and I do the dishes every night. Can't wait to come back when we are all free to do so. read more

I love this nail spa. Sonia was so great and really took time to make sure everything was perfect with my pedicure. She took care of my calluses and dry skin as well as ingrown nails. I also have to mention they have really awesome massage chairs ;). Deena and her husband are kind people and run a wonderful business. Deena and her great staff are the best. I have had gel, dips, and tips put on my nails and they always end up looking amazing! Considering the number of staff and how busy the nail salon is, they do a great job at getting everyone taken care of on a timely basis. Everyone there is very friendly and there is a very nice vibe. My daughter and I got dip nail manicures and are very pleased with the results. The prices were on par with other salons. My technician was Rose and I plan to go back to her in the future. read more

I love Smiley Nail Spa. It's clean, friendly and accommodating for drop ins. The pedicure chairs are comfortable and the foot baths are lined with a disposable plastic liner for each customer. The technicians take their time with each patron, giving excellent foot and leg massages. My personal favorite is Amanda! Go check it out. read more

Smiley Nail Spa is THE place to get your nails/toes done. Not only is the staff very generous and kind, the cleanliness of the spa is unlike any other spa I've been to in Lamorinda. I go there at least once every 2 weeks and always request Mimi although the entire staff is GREAT. Would highly recommend. read more

I went in for a fill and they were booked so I got a pedicure. Before leaving, they said they could do my fill even though it'd be after hours. Deena was very kind and meticulous in her work, and did a perfect job. I'm very happy and would return and recommend in a heartbeat! read more
