Still, every now and then, it is an enticing prospect so I ended up there last night because the vegetarian restaurant where I was planning to go was unexpectedly closed. Well, I had a great meal and pleasant evening there... The waiter was very nice and helpful, chatting and making jokes with us without being too intruding (which always goes a long way for me). He helped us choose the right beer and to pick the right 'garniture' for our burgers. The food was good --I had a fish burger (vegetarian over here!) with the Holly Luya sauce which was excellent--and was brought to our table in no time. The fries were good (although I do prefer them a bit crunchier) and so was the tarte tatin. On top of it, there was a band playing there so the ambiance was really great and it made for a really nice evening... Je ne mange pas chez Ninkasi très souvent. J'ai vécu près de 20 ans aux US donc maintenant que je suis de retour en France, dans une ville comme Lyon où il y a des restaurants à tous les coins de rue, j'ai rarement envie d'un burger ou de frites. Cependant, parfois, je me retrouve dans un Ninkasi et jusqu'à présent, je n'ai jamais été déçue. Manger au Ninkasi Gratte-Ciel a même été un très agréable moment : le serveur était très sympathique, serviable et plaisant. Rien à redire sur ce que nous avons mangé : délicieux fish burger accompagné de la très bonne petite sauce Holly Luya. Les frites ne sont pas super croustillantes mais tout va bien. La tarte tatin était également très bonne. Le plus de la soirée, un groupe qui jouait de la musique pour une ambiance super sympa !

There are descriptions of the beer with alcohol % and the prices on chalkboards along the wall. The beers are extremely cheap in comparison to most places in Lyon where you automatically pay 7 € for a pint of Leffe. They have a super cute patio out back as well and when we went there was live music! Also, you can take your pint glass home with you for only 1 €!
