We split a large Oreo milkshake and 'starter to share' order of chicken strips. The milkshake was a lot (almost two glasses worth), was super creamy and tasted amazing. The chicken starter came with 5 large strips- quite a lot for a starter! They were crispy and tender- great with the honey mustard sauce (which was definitely one of the best HM sauces I've tasted in Oslo). The atmosphere was perfect- a fun 'diner' theme indoors complete with a counter (plus good music), big windows and a nice seating area outside. You also don't notice the bustle from the street at all. Though we didn't have a burger the menu looked really, really good and the prices were a lot lower than other places up the street in Grunerløkka. The servers were also really nice and kind of playful- it was fun and they seemed to like working there. We were really pleased and are planning to come back for a full dinner this weekend!

The service is impeccable with a staff who is very knowledgeable about the intricacies of the menu and super in tune with patrons. This bar has a very cool way of crafting drinks as an ode to the relationship between Norway and the United States. It's a beautiful science of all of the senses. We had every specialty drink on the menu (except the one with the gold coin). Some places have a hard time executing on really great drinks, service, AND ambiance... this place does it all with excellence. The drinks are high quality, intentional, and amazing. The food (we had the sliders) also caught us off guard with how good it was. From our seats at the bar, George was an incredible bartender! We're so excited to see how the menu continues to transform with the seasons, offering new and exciting cocktails. We will absolutely be back and recommend Pier 42 to anyone we can!

The Calvin Klein smelled exactly like a kouign amann! The Northern Lights was like a milk punch. Highly recommend both!

Good! The interior is not. Which is part of the whole atmosphere. And the pictures- epic shots of old rock heroes, make many of us nostalgic and remembering when we were in our 20s. Oh well. The only minus is the selection of beer. Hansa on tap. Come on! A tourist or a new inhabitant? You just gotta have a beer here. Period.

Men totalopplevelsen ble dessverre farget av dårlig service. Vi var en gruppe venner. Halvparten av oss fikk ikke pommes frites som vi hadde bestilt før helt mot slutten av måltidet, da vi var nesten ferdig med hamburgerne våre. Dette til tross for at vi hadde gjort servitørene oppmerksomme på at vi ventet på pommes frites. Det er i og for seg ingen katastrofe, for sånne ting kan jo skje fra tid til annen. Men det som trekker ned opplevelsen er at en av servitrisene oppførte seg frekt mot en i følget vårt, som spurte om det var ok å betale med kontanter. Vedkommendes bankkort virket nemlig ikke da vedkommende skulle betale. Servitrisen var tydelig (verbalt og med kroppsholdning) svært misfornøyd med dette. Jeg har selv jobbet i servicebransjen og forstår ikke hvorfor det skal være så vanskelig å behandle høflige kunder på en normal og vennlig måte. As is the custom in England, you find a table first and then place your order at the bar. There is a wide selection of beer including some non-alcoholic options. Be sure to remember your table number when you go to place your order at the bar. Your drinks are provided at the bar when you order and food is delivered to your table. I recommend asking for a tray to bring your drinks to your table. There is also a screen displaying train departure times in the seating area. Ordered the fish and chips, which comes with smashed peas, and a 7fyell ale. The fish was hot and tasty, with a light breading. The fish itself was firm and the accompanying tartar sauce was a good compliment to the fish. Personally, I could have used a little more tartar sauce but made do with the amount provided. The chips/fries were hot and crispy, and the server brought along a basket with ketchup, salt, pepper, malt vinegar, and utensils. The smashed peas were a real treat! Service was quick and friendly. A good, convenient stop while in the train station or staying nearby.

The eggs were cooked exactly how I asked for them and the bacon was nice and crispy. Looking around, the milkshakes were passing me by constantly and these huge sandwiches. It really made me see how much we, as Americans consume. Their portions were out of this world big if you got a sandwich or something like that. My meal was just the right size, but as most things in Norway, it was expensive so I passed on the milkshake because I'm sure it was out of my budget. A fun experience none the less. I ate at Kverneriet on a Tuesday in June. As they only opened their doors about a month ago, and…read morehave recently got rave reviews, we were not surprised to find a queue for tables. We waited for about 20 minutes, and the waiters seemed to be quite efficient in securing a rapid turnover. Both of the two waiters that tended to our table were very nice, professional and attentive - on opening a bottle of prosecco for us (we were celenrating ;), one of the waiters managed to spill a small piece of cork in the glass, but he promptly went to fetch another, and came back with a full glass. We chose the most popular burgers, the Boss and the Umami, along with fries, truffle fries, aioli and chili mayo. The burgers had enough different components to be interesting, but yet not so much that they could not be eaten the proper way (that is - with your hands, not using cutlery). The meat was grilled and succulent, and the flavours were very well combined. We were served ketchup, mustard and tarragon mayo on the side, so that each could adjust the amount of sauce to taste (I like a lot of sauce). If I had to criticise the burgers at all, I would say that I would prefer a slightly thicker patty that was a bit less well done. I also like fresh veg on my burger (which my burger did not have), but they have a variety with lettuce and tomato on the menu, so I could have chosrn that one. The fries, however, are beyond any criticism. They were perfectly crisp and fatty, well salted, sufficiently thick-cut, and served with your selection of sauce (which for us was aioli and chili mayo). The truffle fries had a subtle, but sufficient taste of truffle, and were sprinkled with fresh parsley. After the burgers and fries, we decided to share the two desserts on the menu along with a chocolate shake (they use Ben & Jerrys ice cream). The chocolate fudge cake with ice cream, candied walnuts and raspberry mousse definitely stole the show with its decadent intense chololatey flavour. The deconstructed berry crumble with lemon curd was good, but there was no taste of the advertised cardamom in the crumble, and it was simply not as exciting as the chocolate cake. We left feeling extremely full, but very happy and satisfied with our meal. I'm happy that Majorstuen has finally got its own "hip burger joint", and hope that Kverneriet stays for a long time!

I will defenetly go here again but next time I will order some jalapenos with it so I get a bit more contrast in the tastes.
