This project was a complete tear-out involving: - new layout design based on our plans / ideas / goals - complete cabinet / countertop replacement including overhead soffit removal - 25% drywall replacement were needed for moisture damage, etc. - some minor structural floor repair - major electrical upgrade including new dedicated circuits (outlets) and lighting fixtures - Shawn's choice of a stunning, yet utility orientated stainless steel kitchen sink Shawn's knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc. proved to be very thorough and professional. His adherence to building code details gave us solid confidence in his advice and work. All materials were quality and installed correctly to last well in to the future of our home. She gave me five colors the morning they took my doors off and I had no time to really think about it and I was okay with that because I sent her quite a few pictures prior to signing our contract and making it clear of my final expectations. (When we signed our contract with a $1500 down payment - another rule if thumb - do not give a down payment of this amount for something that costs minimal to get the job started) Well Jeff was here and sanded/primed and painted our cabinet frames. I messaged Juliette asking if it was primer on the cabinets and she said no that is the color that I chose. I requested color samples many times months prior and always was told by her that we will do it the day of, and I made it clear that I needed samples prior to doing this so I could research and see what would be best to get the effect I was/am looking for. She responds with a snarky attitude it's in your contract. But I didn't have a choice as most of my cabinet doors were off. She was extremely rude and very, very unprofessional. Because of the color change it costed us another $150. Then they said they would paint the hinges. We intended on doing them ourselves but Jeff insisted they will do it because they do it all the time. That was a surprising cost addition of $80. When we made the color change Juliette had an extreme attitude about it. Extremely unprofessional. This issue was on a Friday. So we texted back and forth with her over the weekend and came to a color agreement. That Monday of that same weekend she texted me that because of the color change we need to pay her a $1,000. Nope didn't happen! Contract stated final payment on conclusion. She never showed that Monday either because of car problems (car problems / need money? Makes sense). Then two weeks after finishing the doors off site. They came back with the finished doors. It was clear they were never prepped or sanded prior to being painted. All previous blemishes from previous paint was still on each of the areas where this occurred. Did you know that glazing a cabinet door is done by a furniture marker? That's how mine was completed so I said something. They jumped down my throat started taking the doors off to take them with and I threatened calling the police. Jeff dropped a couple of F bombs. Stating how he has bills to pay, etc. She looked me down and belittled me. The cabinets look horrible. We paid them and told them to leave. We had a balance of $3800 upon completion. We agreed to a final payment of $3,000. They BEGGED us not to put a negative review out there. However we were burned by this contractor and I don't want someone else spending there hard earned money. When they brought the doors in they were still tacky from being wet still. A little upset about that as well since they had them for two weeks. I know this is a family trying to make a living which is very sad. Take a look at there WI CCAP with there names. It's enlightening! Had I known we would have never hired them. I have saved all of the horrible text messages she sent and the ones of my expectations that we decided upon prior to signing the contract. And the new reality it is now. Looks like a ten year old took a marker around the different crevices in the wood. Never, ever use this family/business. We never should have given any final payment. After doing some researching now instead of prior to using them they have run there company under three different names. Please don't use these people. They are just looking for a fast buck. I also feel they take in to many customers at the same time. $4500 wasted!!!
