I call them and spoke with Jill and talked to her about it and she said "yes, they had other people this had happened to and they are working on it". At the same time I was having my home insulated by USA Insulation and their their truck spilled chemicals over my newly done driveway. So I had two problems with the same driveway. USA Insulation agreed to pay for their portion of the damage in multiple stages if necessary regardless of the price. Poblocki drafted a letter which was signed by USA Insulation and Pobocki promising to supervise the redoing of the driveway. I called numerous times trying to get some idea when this was going to get resolved and heard nothing. Finally I received a call from Jill telling me that Poblocki was selling the business and she would get back to me after everything was settled. Jill called last March telling me that they are now ready to proceed and as soon as two of her people have returned to Milwaukee they would be out to evaluate the current condition and they would move forward. I would not have to be home to meet with them. In April their crew was here for four hours power washing the driveway. I assumed they were preparing it for the work to be done. Since then I heard nothing. Last week I call Poblock and was told that Jill quit her job and that they would get back to me. I explained everything, again. I have heard nothing and am fearful that my next step is to hire an attorney to pursue them which is unfortunate since they have a financial commitment from USA Insulation and the only balance would have to come from them to cover the defective asphalt they applied which caused the problem. So anyone thinking Poblocki Paving whose reputation was always "the best" is going to stand behind their name and service needs to think twice before hiring them. It has been a dreadful situation for any homeowner to struggle through. They just don't care. I attempted to upload photos of the damaged driveway but had difficulty. I will keep trying.

We had previously met with Scott Bourque, the owner, but were not quite ready to get our concrete installed. When we we ready, we called Scott, who promptly got over to see us. We met on a Wednesday and he had a crew over to our home on Thursday. Now you probably can't expect that type of timing, but we wanted this job done ASAP and Scott was able accommodate our request. Scott was here, first thing in the morning, to introduce us to his crew chief, provide guidance and suggestions to ensure we had a great experience. The crew that did our work was awesome. You could tell they had worked together for a long time and definitely had "chemistry". Very good communication throughout the process. Our price was very competitive and reasonable. I am out of state, and dependent upon others, which is important to this review. I requested a contractor for roof repair via yelp, and received 3 contractor inquiries in a short period of time. I am fully on board with the contractor trope of "GOOD-FAST-CHEAP, You Pick 2", and this was going to have to be a FAST and GOOD job, so I was anticipating that it wasn't going to be CHEAP. I eventually settled on Buck Remodeling as they could get out to the location quickly- as in day or days, instead or weeks or month. The price was $1,000 to patch the roof in an emergency fashion and I was more than happy with the results. I had Miles and his team redo our floors at our spa. Our previous contractor did not seal the…read morefloors properly and the top coat peeled off, dirty would get inside the parts that were flaking off, and it caused heavy staining. The epoxy on the cove base also started chipping off. After meeting with about 8 different contractors, we found Miles to be the most knowledgable and careful about our floors. One contractor said he and his one employee could do all 10 of our rooms in one week. Miles on the other hand said he would only be able to do 2 rooms in one week. We really liked this approach because we would rather have the floors done correctly than hastily done. Miles recommended a mortar cove rather than using speed cove. It is more difficult to apply but more robust. He was the only contractor who recommended the mortar cove and it gives the floor a nice seamless look. Four of the epoxy companies we met with wouldn't even give us a quote because they were afraid they wouldn't be able to offer a watertight seal and because the square footage was too small. As a float spa, we hose down the floor all day long. Dornbrook's estimate was very reasonable, we got another estimate from a contractor that was twice as much. Abi handles all the emails for Dornbrook and she replies within minutes sometimes even on weekends when we have last minute questions. We also liked that Miles told us about a client where there was a small blemish on the floor and the client asked them to fix it but they had to redo the entire floor to fix the one blemish. Not a lot of contractors would admit to something like that with a prospective client but in the epoxy industry, there are a lot of things that can happen- such as too much moisture/outgassing in the concrete. Miles and his staff were on the job site every day. The previous company I used had hired some college kids to help with the floors. I hope my mistakes will save you the headache of going with the wrong contractor. I've already scheduled for May to have them do the rest of my rooms. I would recommend securing your slot early because they can be booked up several months in advance. If you would like to take a look at our floors, our spa is open to the public.
