They provided a list of the all the documents I would require, completed the paperwork, and verified all the information with me. Christina helped me address any questions related to it and alleviated my worries. She was next to me during the interview process, came prepared with all the documentation needed and making the process less stressful. Beyond that, she is a genuine pleasure to be around; I enjoyed her company and will certainly recommend her to any friends struggling with the immigration. All in all my process took ~ 6months. I retained a firm for a collection case in which Mr. Fagiani was my lead attorney. He charged me…read moreover $20K for 20 motions he claimed he wrote but never filed with the court; and at the time, I did not know that I did not have to pay for anything that was not beneficial to my case so I paid it. He told me that he did "dozens" of appeal cases and appeared in front of the appellate justices to get me to retain him. I asked for 3 sample briefs of the cases he represented his clients on appeals and he gave me one. I then went on the appeal court docket and searched for his cases but found none. I asked him and he said he did not represent anyone and the sample brief he gave me, he just put his name on it becasuse he helped writing it. I retained another appeal attorney who is certified on appellate cases and terminate my agreement with him. I asked for my deposit back and he claimed he had to go on the appellate court docket to check a few dozens times after I let him go so the money was used for the time he spent. This deposit was reversed by the fee arbtration panel later. He told me that if I did not have them file the new lawsuit and later he can get it consolidated it to the existing case, it would be "like jumping off a cliff" because I'd lose my chance to collect from the defendants those assets they had transferred to their daughters. He said there would be no problems consolidating it to the existing case. Later, during the fee arbitration, he revealed in his objection to have his fee arbitration consolidated with the firm's, that he and the owner attorney believed that the judge for the second lawsuit, had not been "sanguine about reopening discovery.... and would not likely add more parties after a trial was set and then continued in that case." Therefore, the judge would most likely not let me consolidate the two lawsuits. If Mr. Fagiani had not lied to me and told me that he actually believed the judge was unlikely to agree to having the second case consolidating to the first one, I would have never agreed and paid them to file the lawsuit, a lawsuit they have never filed with the court. I do not know why he would try to get me to hire him and the firm to file a second lawsuit in such late date except they wanted money from me. The deposit for this case was reversed by the fee arbitration panel later. He then tried to charge me about $96,000 for checking the dockets dozens of times, preparing pleadings and discoveries for a second lawsuit that he never filed with the court. Attorneys are not supposed to do pleadings and discoveries until you have filed the lawsuit. Later, the arbitrators dismissed these charges stating that they were frivolous, made up work and were not relevant nor beneficial to my case. He then harassed me and the Bar's fee arbitration panel by sending us the same dozens and dozens of extremely long emails threatening me in the hope that I would feel intimidated and withdraw my request for the fee arbitration and harassing the arbitrators in the fee arbitration panel that a few of them dropped out. It took over two years for the Bar to keep replacing these arbitrators. Previously, Mr. Fagiani had told me this is a tactic he usually uses to confuse the opposing counsels and make them read the emails because they have to make sure he did not say something of substance in the emails and run up their clients' bills (and mine in return). I was awarded over 26K I paid them for work he claimed he did but was not beneficial to my case. The arbitrators dismissed Mr. Fagiani stating that the statute of limitation had ran out; however, my attorney stated in his objection that the statute of limitation for a written contract was 7 years instead of 4 years as the arbitrators was stating. I surmised they dismissed him because the money was paid to the firm and they did not want to deal with him. This guy would fight with the opposing counsel and he told me he had not done many trials. If he does, the jurors would not like him or his bedside manner and they might not rule for his clients because of it. He would lie and overbill his clients with no compunction. Run away as fast and as far as you can from this guy.
