Would suggest the business just remove their inquiry page if they're declining all requests anyway, or ask more specific questions around timing at minimum.

When the whole gang showed up at the appointed place and time- 3rd street- we were met by a really nice high school kid who held us for 20 minutes while he tried to contact the lead photographer and find out where she was and when she would arrive. With 9 smallish, impatient kids and a larger, impatient father-in-law, we tried to help this kid buy more time, but eventually he gave up and proceeded to take the pictures himself. I certainly have nothing against high school students apprenticing, learning, helping out...but this wasn't our expectation. Through it all, he was professional, kind, accommodating, and genuinely tried...while some photos were great, other pictures came out with shadows on faces, sun at the wrong angle, and other issues that should not be present on a professional photo shoot. Certainly not his fault...he did his best under the circumstances. The post photo-shoot didn't go so well. My sister-in-law had to make repeated calls to keep the process moving, and it wasn't until November that we finally were sent the photos on a flash drive. I really don't like leaving negative responses on yelp, but we didn't have a great experience. I'm just one client- and I hope others yelp with more positive experiences- but a $450 photo shoot is a lot more disappointing than a poor $2.50 Frappuccino!

We were on vacation and decided to get pictures taken the last couple of days we were there. As we were leaving on the second attempt, it started drizzling, but decided to try anyway. It was windy and chilly, but the photographer did not act like it was a problem, and we quickly tried to get our pictures in as it obviously was going to start storming soon. Her husband was with her, but made no attempt to help pose us or our 5 children. She said sessions usually last 45 minutes, but b/c of the weather it got cut short to 15 minutes. She told us that she would email the picture in 2-3 weeks and we paid her the $100 for the sitting fee. After 4 weeks, I had not received any pictures even regularly checking my spam folder, so I called her, left her a message with our phone number, and asked her to call me back when she was able. Another week went by and still no pictures and no call back. I called her again, telling her that I still had not heard from her or received the pictures, left my number again, and asked her to call me back. Still nothing, so the next day I emailed her and asked her to refund my money and we would just go get our pictures somewhere else. She emailed me back claiming that she had sent the pictures weeks ago and had texted me the week before even though I mysteriously never hear from her. At that point she did send a link to the pictures which were all bad. I am confused why she never called me back on the phone number I provided for her and asked her to call me on twice. I obviously was not receiving her supposed forms of communication. She also wrote, "I think I was more then fair with you. I changed the session multiple times as per your request. I stood in the pouring rain risking my equipment for your session." I am not sure what those things had to do with the issue of not receiving my pictures in the amount of time she promised, but I emailed her back and told her that I would take partial responsibility for not canceling the session b/c it was starting to rain (it was not pouring rain), but that she could have canceled just as easily since she obviously was so concerned about it. I asked for a partial refund not even suggesting what amount she should refund me which I thought was a fair request. I never heard back from her again. That was weeks ago.

We loved the photos we saw on JPG's website and their commitment to customers was clear from our very first conversation with Joe. We worked together to come up with a price/package that met our needs and chose Matt Bender as our primary photographer. Our engagement session gave us a chance to get to know Matt and for him to know us. When the big day came, we felt very comfortable with him and he (along with 2 other photographers) did a great job managing our family and bridal party for group shots. Many guests commented that our photographers were awesome throughout the evening. This skill should not be overlooked when you are evaluating a wedding photographer! In the end, we were thrilled with the quality and variety of pictures. The photo journalistic style captured the true essence of the day and there were a lot of really fun shots. To top it off, all of JPG's wedding packages include a DVD or thumb drive of high-res images with personal use rights - which means you have full flexibility when it comes to albums and prints. Bottom line: JPG brought the style, quality, and personality we were looking for at a competitive price. They were easy to work with from start to finish and we could not have been happier with the results.

We not only cannot recommend JPG, we would strongly caution against using them. In spite of planning together with the photographer and being clear about our intentions not to photograph the prep, we had to wait for them to set up after we were long ready. The 14 weeks from event to actual pictures were astonishing. Even more so after getting them and seeing just how little thought and effort went into their editing and "organization". Also - be prepared to be referred to your contract repeatedly. They will hold it up anytime you ask for something.
