New in town, visiting, or just want a new way to see the city in which you live, then give the e2ride bike tours a shot. You are guaranteed a fun filled day, cycling around the city seeing sights and learning a little history about the area in which we are in. First of all let me say, I live in the Jacksonville area for 18 years and didn't even know that there was such a bike company to give bike tours. So when a friend found this on GROUPON...I was elated!!!! So we bought out discount tickets, made reservations, and hopped on a bike for a ride! Tour was scheduled for 10-1 in San Marco, a 3 hour tour that bikes around 11 miles in and out and around the San Marco area, with stops throughout the tour for a little history lesson, if you will. Leigh supplied all the bikers with ice cold water and had refills when needed, and also provided snacks at the half way point along a pond. Nice touch! My only complaint??? Our tour was scheduled for 10 and YES this little note is on the website: "Please arrive at the time of your tour. If we're not there when you arrive, we're on our way!", which is nice, BUT...when she did arrive, it took 45 minutes to unload the bikes, pump up tires, give instructions, pass out water, try the bikes for size, then ride.... Please let me say that in NO WAY was the tour shortened, she did the entire tour, but what would have happened if anyone of the bikers had other plans or was running late themselves? Anyhow, the group of girls had a blast, and we are already talking about another tour! The good thing is, e2ride has many more areas of Jacksonville to bike around (San Marco 3hrs 11 miles, Riverside/Avondale 3hrs 10 miles, Mandarin 3hrs 12 miles, Springfield 3hrs 5.5 miles, and Art around town 3hrs) , and I can't wait to bike them all! My husband booked this tour for us on New Year's Day and what a great start to 2019. Leigh was professional and a wonderful tour guide. We had water, cookies, you name it she was packed! We did the San Marco tour which I highly recommend but she also does other areas of JAX. The bikes were super comfy and easy to maneuver. It was also a beautiful day and see the St.Johns river and Leigh's little hideaway spots made it all worth it. Thanks for an amazing day!! read more

In town for business so I decided a tour might be a fun way to get some exercise and learn about the city. Leigh, was very thoughtful and prepared. The bikes were good quality, she offered water and a snack. We passed several people along the way who were greeted by Leigh with a cheery, good morning. This made me happy and made the experience very pleasant. We were spreading cheer! Leigh is an excellent ambassador for Jacksonville. Fun on two wheels. Excellent bike tour through the urban core. Had 3 kids in tow and despite one mishap, we still had lots of fun biking through neighborhoods and parks and hearing the history of our fair city. Leigh made sure to set a leisurely but productive pace and when the 9 year old slipped while racing through a pile of damp leaves and took a nasty tumble, Leigh dashed back to make sure all was well (which thankfully it was). The spirit of camaraderie runs high with this tour. It might be because people who opt for bike tours are generally jovial, adventurous and easy going people who appreciate stories, open air and the spirit of adventure. Or it might be because Leigh's passion for bicycling and historical neighborhoods is the good kind of infectious. read more

We loved our experience with the e2ride bike tours and cannot wait to do it again. Booking was easy and the tour was amazing. We did the San Marco tour and I would highly recommend this scenic ride around an incredibly beautiful area of Jacksonville. I hope to do the Avondale/Riverside ride next, but may wait for slightly cooler weather to maximize comfort. We arrived at the meeting place at 9:45 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. ride. The bikes and guide arrived right at 10:00 a.m. I think she could really use an assistant, but fortunately some of the riders helped get the bikes down and make sure the tires where fully inflated. A demonstration was extremely helpful for setting up each bike to each individual rider's height. I have honestly never been on a more comfortable bike and though I often lack confidence riding a bike, I was completely confident for the entire duration of the tour. We did not get started until nearly 10:45 a.m. and had a delay for one of the rider's issues. I was secretly happy that there were riders who were even more novices than me. There were 11 total riders plus the guide and I think that was a manageable number, but any more and we may have been too large. We rode along the southbank riverwalk, by Treaty Oak park, and through some neighborhoods along the river that I did not know even existed. We took frequent breaks and snacks and cold water kept us going. Even with the late start, we did the full 11 miles and the tour was 3 hours as expected so we were happy we had the opportunity to enjoy the entire tour. Such a great outing, I would suggest locals as well as tourists check out this easy adventure. So much weekend fun. read more

What a great way to spend a beautiful October afternoon! I took the San Marco tour with Leigh several years ago before we moved to Jacksonville. We have since moved to Jax, and returned with a friend to do the Riverside/Avondale tour, and plan to eventually do them all. Leigh is very knowledgeable and shares a tremendous amount of information about the local community, architecture, and history. She's also a great host/tour guide, providing water and snacks for the trip and taking group pictures. Leigh fits each bike to the rider. The bikes are great quality, comfortable Trek bikes, and after this trip I plan to buy one for myself. A great way to learn about the area, while getting a bit of exercise as well. I've taken 2 tours with e2ride and they are really great!! Leigh is very knowledgeable about the areas we toured and provides many interesting facts that are both informative and entertaining. We went on one tour for a friend's 50th birthday and I mentioned that she liked architecture so Leigh tailored the tour to cover more styles of houses, history of buildings, etc which was perfect. The seven of us bicycled from Panera in San Marco to Veterans Memorial Arena on the north bank in the Sports Complex. We learned some things about our adopted town that we hadn't picked up in the last 33 years! Leigh really knows her stuff. She is a font of information about local history. She knows everyone and we even got to meet some of the homeowners as we stopped to hear about their home.
