Tonight was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. The food was incredible (as expected!), but what really set this experience apart was how completely effortless it was for us. We didn't have to plan a single thing. No reservations to juggle, no coordinating stops, no stressing over details. We just showed up and enjoyed each other. Every couple received thoughtful gifts, and one of the sweetest touches was getting to write our partners a card, which they had waiting for us at just the right moment. It added such a meaningful, personal element to the evening. There were also so many fun games woven throughout the tour, plus great prizes that made everything feel interactive and exciting without ever being cheesy. It struck the perfect balance of romantic, fun, relaxed, and memorable. You could truly focus on your partner while JaxTours handled the magic behind the scenes. If you're looking for something low effort on your part that will absolutely knock both your and your partner's socks off, snag the last spots for tomorrow if you can! It's totally worth it! This is 100% going to become a yearly tradition for us.

I went on the ships and sips tour on Saturday. They needed a minimum amount of people for the tour…read moreto go, and they immediately informed me when they had enough people so I could book as well. It was about 65 dollars for the tour, which included a drink at every stop. I arrived early at the at first stop, and we waited in the bus while others arrived. Even though it was a bit cold and raining, we all agreed to do the first drink on the ship. We climbed into the USS orleck, and was given a quick tour of the ship. We then did trivia for the drinks, which was shots of vodka and bourbon. It was really good. The next stop was at a beer brewery, and we had a ticket for one drink. I tried one of their beers, and it was quite smooth and refreshing. We stopped at another beer restaurant, and did a game where we had to text the guide a quote the quickest possible. The final stop was at a rooftop, which we had to go through handheld metal detector, and upstairs. It was worth it as the drink was strong and excellent. I had so much to drink, that I did excuse myself a bit early so I could Uber back to my hotel safely. The guides (Dan and Bill I believe) were excellent. While there was some story telling about the ship in the first stop, I wish there were more about the brewery and restaurants as well. However, the games were pretty fun to play and one lucky guest was crowned the Duke of the tour and got some prizes. Tina, our driver, drove us safely to each stop. The bus was comfortable. It was definitely a fun tour, but best to pace yourself with the drinks, especially if you are driving back home. Taking an Uber/Lyft is a smarter idea. I am glad I tried this tour out as it was fun and there were ample amount of drinks. It was worth the 65 dollars. I will definitely try their food tour next time I visit Jacksonville. Overall: A

While we are familiar with the city, it was really interesting to have the context of history to frame our knowledge. We arrived 15 minutes before our tour, and our guide Toni was waiting for us. The tuktuk was ready with a cooler filled with champagne, sangria and water (that we ordered as add-ons to our tour). She gave us a set of headphones and a speaker we could wear around our necks, so we could hear her narration clearly over the traffic. Our two hour tour was chock full of sights and sites! Toni was fun, knowledgeable and engaging. We had plenty of opportunities to comments, ask questions, and even get out of the vehicle to take photos or admire certain locations. We cannot WAIT to take another tour (or three!) Highly recommend - this is a fun date for couples, families, or friends!

Getting this activity 'on the books' was more than aggravating, to say the least. The tasting tour…read moresays that to text them is a quicker option for response to inquiries (for them.) It most definitely didn't seem that way! They DID get back to me via text, but it wasn't in a quick fashion. I'd say an semi-acceptable fashion (within 8-12 hours.) Regardless, we DID get our event scheduled for a private tour with (15 people.) It was quite an expensive 'private tour' of the night of lights that was explained to me as tho the grinch (driving one trolly) and Santa (driving another trolly) would interact with one another (more than minimally) and make the tour exclusive to all 15 of us. They would hop off one trolly and interact with the passengers of the other trolly, etc. In reality, it was NOT a collective tour. The grinch separated from the other trolly and it was essentially two separate tours. Approximately 3-4 times they interacted with one another (acting as tho one would hit the other's trolly, yelling insults at Santa, responding to the grinch, and stopping at the 'duck bar' for the ambush together.) The address to initially meet at is kind of hard to find, even with GPS, as well! There is NO indication of 'the tasting tours' business name on the store front at the address. It is a Cuban bakery.' YES, we all had a good time.... But I don't want the rest of you that book a 'private' tour to be mislead or pay for something you won't receive. *** I also find it distasteful that the company charges an unprecedented amount of money for the trolly rides and then has the audacity to send an email asking for further tip for the trolly drivers.*** Whether a patron tips or not is up to them, not a business owner requesting it!

And I wasn't wrong! The tour lasted about 90 minutes (and it leaves promptly FYI) and takes you along the shoreline of Amelia Island - past the shrimping boats and past a Civil War era fort - before heading towards Cumberland Island National Seashore. This is where the true fun of the tour was for me. I had no idea really the history of the island and found it fascinating how the Carnegies and Rockefellers and more of the country's elite used this random Georgia seashore as their private escape. The history of both Cumberland and Amelia Islands is incredibly fascinating and the guides for both the Florida and Georgia sides respectively were well informed and personable. Plus - you'll very likely see a ton of great wildlife throughout including dolphins and wild horses and pigs. It's a great way to spend an afternoon in the area and a fabulous introduction to Cumberland Island National Seashore/Park.
