I cannot say enough good things about this park. We were fortunate to be here before it gets crazy busy. Very few people in the park. The grass is impeccable, like walking on a fancy gulf course. I have never seen bathrooms so immaculately clean, seriously they must clean them every 15 minutes. I met the Workers and they went out of their way to ask if we needed anything. Very kind and very knowledgeable about places around Lanesboro. We have Reservations for later in the summer. I CANNOT WAIT!! If you want a beautiful location to have some good ole family fun, head to Eagle Cliff Campground. read more

Park is clean and well kept. Security and customer service was a bit lacking. A group near our site was partying late with loud language and excessive drinking. A man attempted to enter a neighboring family's tent after 1am and ultimately found his way back to his tent and puked inside of. The group was not asked to leave, they were back drinking by 10am the next morning with no consequence. While the camp staff insists that security went to the site multiple times it was hard to believe. When we attempted to discuss the matter with the camp staff and were scolded for lodging the complaint "because some people don't listen and what are we supposed to do." This was an extreme case of bad behavior but it felt as though they were unapologetically catering to the party market versus the family market. Camp hosts were prompt and helpful. I probably won't come back with tents due to the tubing/party crowd. It was fine as an rv park. read more

If you want to experience very rude and unfair treatment where you will be mistreated and ripped off by the staff and ow era you must come to Eagle Cliff campground. Was double charged for the room without any options and negotiations and knees delivered to us after we already left the campground. Staff is very rude and unwilling to be reasonable, professional and understanding. Campground looks good but rules are ridiculous and staff and owners are very shady and make non sense decisions. Stay away if you want nice peaceful stay and don't want to be ripped off. read more

Very nice campground!! Super clean. Enjoyed walking the grounds every day. They keep the grass like a golf course. It's near the river in a canyon so the sun sets faster than If you were up out of the canyon. We went in the middle of May so it was still cooler weather and wasn't that busy. I'm assuming that place is bustling during the busy season. read more

We camped(rv trailer :32") here Jul-Aug 2020 for 5 days with hill hook ups(electric, water, sewer, etc) . Beautiful camp grounds. Extremely well kept. I don't think I ever seen a better field of grass at a campground: well cut, trimmed, not a single weed. Clean bathrooms and showers. We did the tubbing down the river. $12 per person - very relaxing. Bring a cooler (an extra $8 tubbing) You can also rent bikes, canoes, kayaks, etc. The bike trail(Root River State Trail) is just across the river from the site(bike to Whalen to cross the river - - only 5 min bike ride to get to the trail) . One of the best bike trails you will ever find. Love this place. We will be back next year. read more

We arrived yesterday 6-27-19. So far so good. Beautiful grounds. Lots of grass. It's cut nice and short. Well kept. Can almost see the river from our camp site. We walked to the river last night. Flowing good. They offer tubing here we're debating trying it out. I've never went tubing before. They also have bike rentals, and canoe rentals. Reasonably priced. Restroom are very clean. Showers looked nice size. We didn't use them. Only twenty five cents for four mins. Great place for RVers or tents. They have a basketball court and volley ball (both on grass). Playground for the littles. Store on site has the necessities. Bring bug repellant!!! Absolutely no mosquitos but the gnats are annoying. This area is known for their eagles. We didn't see any. We spoke with Ken (owners dad). He said April-May is the best time to view the eagles. Ken was a blast to chat with. Nice guy. Laundry room available. $1.75 for washer and $1.50 for dryer. Fire wood available. Very friendly staff. Dog friendly to leashed dogs. No designated area for off leash. Trails. The seasonal people are very friendly. Everyone knows everyone. Fun community. Would be great for families. ***Update~Started raining Friday night 6-29-19 and into the am. The river rose 4 feet in three hours. By 2pm it had covered all of the lower tent area. The staff were awesome. They made sure tent folks were moved before the rain reached them. Not quite what I had in mind when we came here but Mother Nature had other plans. Turned into a one of a kind adventure. Was wild watching so much stuff get carried down the river. End of the day I will come back here. I loved the park, RV area, and the people were nice. Just spend a weekend at Eagle Cliff Campground. I must say, this is one of the nicest campgrounds I have been to in the last 12 years. The campground is almost park like. Sites are all grass. For RV's there is a small gravel pad. Rates are very reasonable. Over 250 sites, with 100 seasonal. Located on the Root River, they offer canoe and kayak trips as well as tubing. They take you 3 miles upriver to Lanesboro and you exit right in the campground. No getting into a bus while wet to go back to camp. While across the river from the Root river state trail, you can get on 1/3 of a mile away. Scenery is spectacular in the Root river valley. I highly recommend the campground. read more

Love this campground. Owners and staff go above and beyond. extra services like tubing and kayaking are reasonable and well planned out.

I really enjoy this campground, the Staff are friendly and helpful. Very well kept sites mechanically as well as physically. I have used three sites that were all surprisingly level. They do have rules that have to be followed, no rugs. the grass is fantastic tho, really don' t need the rug. Tubing was a nice float, fishing was meh! but that could be because I m not that good at it. There were other activities as well. Oh and security will stop by and politely remind you that no music or radios after 11 I think? check the rules lol. I really want to recommend the park, but don't want the competition for reservations.... Its a great park!! read more

We were very impressed with this large campground and the small (6 rooms) motel - it was VERY clean! Staff was helpful, our motel room was comfortable enough - had a microwave, decent size small refrigerator (no freezer), and a TV. Bed mattresses were OK, pillows were on the old and flat side (bring your own). The campsite on that the younger generation in our group stayed at was in the purple area right next to the river - nice and private but close to parking and port a let. The only thing that would have been nice is a designated parking spot in front of out motel - on Saturday it was crazy busy with rafters and we could NOT find parking near our room (my husband even has a handicap parking sign from BMV). My family group of 3 generations of 11 people had a fantastic time floating down the Root river for 3 hours! We had our own tubes, with backs & mesh bottoms (loved this), and we got in the river near the waterfalls (not sure what this is called). We liked getting in the river here because it was a short, level, walk from the parking lot, and the riverbank was level here. The water here is colder than the water in the main river we floated into later - we eventually got out at our east side campground at Eagle Cliff (a steep exit riverbank). Eagle cliff also has a level exit on the west side campground, that we used the next day for a short float with a senior family member with 2 knee replacements! We had so much fun, riding small rapids "butts up" to avoid rocks (2 obese family members got holes in their tubes). We then doubled up some youngsters with life vests - they liked sharing tubes! We hooked all our tubes together to stay together. We got out for awhile at a low spot to enjoy looking in the river - the kids built a dam with rocks, we had great fun! read more

This is a beautiful campground, too bad I can't say that about the owners. You have something nice here don't ruin it by being complete jerks. The owners need to worry less about their precious grass and concentrate more on hospitality. We had pull through sites and have always been able to face our friends, not this time! We were all set up for a few hours when the owner came down and starting yelling saying we were parked wrong! Then proceeded to tell us that we needed to move and pull in from the other way. We needed to stay in the ruts, this doesn't make much sense if you were to pull in the way they want you to and pull through to leave (driving through the grass) to the road. You are still pulling through the sites regardless on which way you pull through. Worse yet...a motor home came in later and parked the way we had been parked, they didn't make them move their camper. Guess it is who you know...I get that it is their campground, their rules but if they want people to park a certain way then they should have you follow them to your spot. As for them driving around with no lights on and sneaking up on people, yelling at them for being too loud and no more wood on the fire after midnight...that is BS only another way to get a bad review. Hello that is what camping is, staying up late visiting with friends. I can see it if you are loud and out of control but just normal talking and no loud music, what is the harm in that? To the owners: your rudeness and utter lack of customer skills will only get the word out to other people. Swearing at people and telling people they don't need to come back is not good customer service. Why do you feel a need to yell at the top of your lungs at campers. As the saying goes, one bad comment is like getting a 100 bad comments at once. One good comment is like getting 10 good comments. Word of mouth travels fast and if they are bad comments it will affect your business. Why do you feel a need to charge for showers? No other campground charges for showers! Another thing why do campgrounds feel the need to charge for a family? We have our own camper, we have our own supplies...so why charge for more than 2 people? read more

So let's start with the good. Great scenery, beautiful river, neither of which have much to do with the business. The bad? The staff ranged from disinterested to straight rude. We arrived per schedule for the canoe rental and were literally yelled at for not being early. They run an old Chevy Astro van which wasn't big enough for my family (there were eight of us) so we had for kids across the back. The staff are completely unorganized and have no idea what anyone else is doing. They don't even have phones or radios to communicate. So after hours in a canoe my son and I missed the end. I guess there's a big ass sign but after that nothing. We missed the sign, I'll cop to that, but how do you not have personnel assigned to prevent this? Luckily some nice people helped us haul our canoe back to the campground. Oh, also, in 2017 who the hell has a $10 minimum for a credit or debit card? Bottom line is that as nice as the experience generally was this business is not run by professionals. read more
