The representative stated that someone had called to notify me at 8:30 a.m. However, I have thoroughly checked my phone's call logs twice, and I never received a call or voicemail from Bethany Medical. Because I rely on the GTA bus system, this lack of communication almost left me stranded at this facility with no guaranteed way home. Fortunately, the driver was able to take me back, but this situation caused severe and unnecessary distress. I refuse to return to the Battleground Road facility.

I've had experiences at several locations for various diagnostic tests and not once had a good experience. Getting an appointment is first issue. Customer service reps making appointments on phone and checking in are unfriendly and unhelpful. At Women's Imaging, I was left in extremely cold and tiny area wearing gown only, waiting for mammogram for over 45 minutes. I got dressed and left. Pretty sure they forgot I was there. I wasn't given clothing instructions for dexascan, and tech was clearly angry. At Wendover location I was made to wait over an hour on the little shelf of a bench in a closet with an IV in my arm. It was pure misery! No apology for miserable wait. They rudely and quickly put me on MRI contraption with no concern for my discomfort. I asked for earphones and music. They seemed angry, gave me headphones but didn't turn up volume. Then rushed me up and out. My stiff shoulders and back not wanting to move quickly, but they wanted me gone asap. After, I had to make innumerable phone calls and spent hours on the phone trying to correct the billing. I had a contracted out of pocket price that I paid at time of service. I reminded receptionist NOT file insurance, but they did. Try to talk to someone in billing after that! No one will answer or return call. They billed and received payment from my insurance. That's FRAUD!! Greensboro residents deserve a better imaging facility. When my doctors refer me here, I say, "No thanks!" I don't need to be treated poorly from time of appointment, waiting for procedure, enduring rude techs, and irresponsible billing!

The practice requires you to come in beforehand for assessment. At the end, they tell you - we will call your insurance to verify that it is covered. They called and yes, it's covered. It's preventive care. Got it. I have that message in writing. During the procedure, Dr. Mann found two polps. Now it's no longer preventive. The procedure is now considered "diagnostic" - translation - your insurance will not cover it. Now I have a $1,200 bill that I have to pay. I called multiple times asking to speak to someone to understand this. "Your bill will be reviewed for coding, but don't count on any changes. It's going to stay diagnostic." That's what the staff person on the phone told me - the coding is what is causing your insurance not to pay, but we are not going to change it. Get over it. This is unfortunate and unfair. Health insurance is expensive. You count on it to be there when you need it. When a doctor's office decides to label your experience "diagnostic" instead of preventive, you are screwed. Consider the testing of the polps diagnostic - that makes sense, but I scheduled this preventive procedure in the absence and signs of symptoms. As part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Medicare and most third-party payers are required to cover services given an A or B rating by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) without a co-pay or deductible, but the correct CPT and ICD-10-CM codes must be submitted to trigger coverage at 100% for the patient. Colonoscopies are an important step in preventive care, but with doctor's offices refusal to remember that the initial procedure is preventive, this will probably be my last one.
