The appointment was scheduled quickly, and all paperwork was provided electronically. The pricing was very fair, and a pittance considering the potential for an unplanned expense should an inspection not be conducted. Tammy (the person who I spoke to on the phone) got some of my basic information and walked me through the type of service and inspection needed. After the call, I was sent a confirmation email with the quote and details for my appointment. On inspection day: Our inspector and the pest control were both early and we started 10-15 minutes ahead of schedule. Alex looked and inspected every nook and cranny, describing what he was looking for and what he was finding. We were wrapped up in about an hour and half - almost 2 hours. The inspector recommended by our agent had some iffy reviews and my cousin (who owns his own inspection company) was unable to accommodate our schedule. As first time home buyers, we had ordered a home inspection, pest, radon and sewer camera, the latter of which could not be performed because of equipment failure (that was disappointing). so I fell in love with a house in Pittsburgh...actually fell in love with a few First house was a money pit you can only see in a movie ... but then came along a house I deemed perfect. Ah yes said the realtor perfect? what looks perfect is not always so Our real estate buying agent says "So you want to find out all the things wrong with the house before or after the closing"? yeah think about it ...you want to know before yes indeed you do who wants a house filled with non working pipes? perhaps some rusted out leaking broken pipes? Some hidden mold? Hidden leaks? Foundation issues? Toilets that don't flush? Windows that don't open? throw in a little knob n Tube for good measure. How about a roof thats on its last weeks of service? This is why no matter how much you love a house you need a certified inspector and not your brother's friend ...but someone legit that will walk you through all the things that they might find wrong Kelly showed up on time, actually he was there a few minutes early. Kelly will not miss a thing because he is so thorough. He is a home inspector his only job; so he tells it like it is. He isn't there to sell you anything other then give you the honest truth. Great thing about being there when the inspection is taking place Kelly will show you and explain what he sees. Even this teeny tiny crack in the panel of the heat system You don't have to be there because they sent a full (50 pages) of pictures and information about the house. Looks can be deceiving when it comes to a house ...you need to know this going in I kid you not had to back out of a different house that needed over 150k of work (and that still would not have covered everything ) at a cost of just over $550 this was money well spent. First time home buyer here, Eagle Home Inspections was referred to us by our realtor. Wanting to schedule quickly after our offer was accepted, I was surprised to find out that the company's scheduler was available by phone over the weekend to set the inspection appointment for a few days later. Kelly, the owner, and his team member were waiting for us when we arrived for the appointment and they had already inspected the outside of the house. DO NOT USE THIS INSPECTOR! BUYERS BEWARE!!!! Coldwell Banker likes to suggest this inspector when they know there is a problem with the house and he will purposely cover it up for them. He told us there is "some moisture" in the basement of our house but nothing serious to worry about. Immediately after I move in I discover there is a closet in the basement that has several severe cracks and leaks alot of water from the ceiling and has mold forming from the cracks. Now I have to spend thousands of dollars to get it fixed because this inspector was shady and incompetent. Steer clear of this guy. read more
