The facilities beautiful. It feels generally safe besides my sister's vehicle being broken into last year. The reason I give two stars is the office is pretty fake to the point it's creepy. They act all kind and considerate then they turn around and give you a notice for something random, specifically the pool. This place has a very large very well kept outdoor pool but they're really weird about it. A couple months ago I had my hometown friends over to swim and relax with some steaks on the grill and the next day the office gave us a notice of "too many guests" they say no more then 2 guests which is a little strict but understandable but the thing is I had only two guests??? Why am I getting a notice for a rule I didn't break?? And I was never talked to or confronted about this just found the envelope at my doorstep. We weren't being obnoxious or breaking any rules whatsoever and for whatever reason someone was leering at distance like a weirdo and decided to write out a notice. Really bored behavior if you ask me. Fast forward to now right before I went to work today my sister decided to have my two other siblings their spouses and their TODDLERS yes toddlers over to swim at the pool. I'm sure my sister recognized the stringent "No more than 2 guests" rule but decided because there were 4 adult guests not including toddlers in an otherwise empty pool it'd deserve some clemency but no we received a notice that we must appear to the office to be reprimanded. I wasn't there but I was told to appear. They also deactivated our facilities card. So for that blown out of proportion escapade they have pulled we will be vacating the place for good. I give Copperstone 2 stars because I don't want this dramatic event to negate the fact that it is an otherwise good living space but the office are obviously all high strung drama queens that stalk the pool for literal toddlers exceeding the guest limit like are you serious??? Granted rules are rules but they're really weird about the pool and security will pester you every 3 minutes while you're trying to relax so if you like to swim don't pick Copperstone

Also charged my security deposit for routine maintenance (like changing the smoke detector batteries that were not beeping) and cleaning when the apartment was clean. They require you to provide a receipt for cleaning carpets in the lease so I can't object to that but other than that, my regular cleaning person cleaned it and she is a world class cleaning person. Upon leaving, the manager of this company lied to my employers, apparently in an attempt to collect a free deposit from me or my employers. I was accused of leaving this place a mess. Not only was this place cleaned by me above and beyond what is usually expected of a rental and definitely beyond what is expected of a temporary corporate rental, but I was specifically told by the complex manager that "I could clean as little or as much as I wanted to since they were gonna clean anyway " the day before I left. Other than not finishing the vacuuming because THEIR cheap junky vac stopped sucking anything at all, there was not much else left to do. I cleaned the entire kitchen including all the appliances way better than they were when I arrived and even removed a few dirt marks on the carpet that came with the apartment. All in all it was as good if not better than I left it accept for the vaccuum thing. They even accused me of stealing ther cheap garbage can when in fact it was left in it's place and with a fresh bag (and a few extras underneath). Another neighbor/traveler I knew there had issues with the other neighbors complaining, every time the family set foot outside, that the children were...oh my god!... "playing outside" . Do you expect the kids to never set foot outdoors? Besides, there were kids across from me who played outdoors so the rule was not universally enforced but only enforced depending on who you know, apparently. Anyway, if you want a retirement village, advertise it that way. This place is NOT kid friendly in any way. Yet they seem to be fine with college students climbing on the fountain after dark and breaking beer bottles ("no glass" sign ignored) on the pool deck right in front of the security guard (no point in calling them, eh). Another issue mentioned in my first review was never resolved of the tap water having an odor. I took more than a few showers in water that smells like farts (and it wasn't me). This was is a complex-wide problem that they blamed on the city water yet none of the neighbors outside the complex noticed it.. Several nights I could hear what sounded like the upstairs neighbors wrestling elephants heavy objects loud sudden jarring thuds overhead) late at night. When management was told about that later they said "there was some construction going on and the guy must have been working late to catch up". Really? Starting from 2:30 am to after 4:30 am? Are you prepared to rent where they do their maintenance and construction at those hours? Do you think that if that is the case that they care at all about the tenants and owners? Did I mention how they took three visits over a period of a week to fix a simple hot water heater problem when I first moved in? Three visits and no hot water for a week..enough said. I let that one go because it was summer, but it was still a chilly shower experience. I had to call my company to get it done right finally. I take this review all the way down to a one star for dishonesty, alone! Too bad, because it was such a good first impression. I hope that precious deposit they stole or tried to steal covers some of the business they lose from bad reviews. I doubt if my company and the other travel companies will continue to use them for long if they cause problems with very many of the travelers and there is definitely a pattern starting here. I can certainly pass on my warning to future travelers to Las Cruces. We do have a choice to refuse a particular living arrangement, you know. How much of your business is traveler related because we do talk to each other and many of them saw my apartment while I was living there and how clean it was kept! We tried extremely hard to be very polite and considerate to the complex and neighbors and this is what we get for our effort. Shame on you people for lying! I wish I hadn't gone the extra mile and replaced all the light bulbs with high efficiency ones the week before I left and made extra keys for them, among many other small things. I do try to leave a place much better when I leave than when I arrive. I hope the new place appreciates my efforts more.

The cheap vinyl floor had a tear and was peeling, the toilet leaked, the swamp cooler was inoperable, as well as several other issues that should have been done prior to moving in. 9 work orders were made to just make the apartment livable and help fix some of the amenities. These sat for over several weeks before being marked as "complete" with no one actually coming in. It took repeated trips to the office with several dismissive conversations before repairs were finally made. Unfortunately, marking maintenance requests as complete without actually providing services became a common scenario throughout our entire lease. One major example is when our hot water broke during the end of winter. We submitted a maintenance request, called multiple times, and also followed up in person. We went an entire week without hot water (illegal in the state of New Mexico and in the city of Las Cruces) until I finally was more assertive in the process. Their response was that they "just became aware" of the issue, despite previous contact, and that they had "no prior knowledge"... While Park Place may come off as affordable, they will make up for it in any way they can. We provided management at the very beginning of our lease with ESA paperwork for our dog. However, at every inspection we would receive a 400$ pet fine. It was then up to us to re-provide the paperwork that they already had, in order for them to drop the charge. When it came to moving out, my spouse and I worked long and hard to make sure the apartment was clean, and they wouldn't have any reason to deduct our deposit. To be very clear, the place was significantly cleaner than when we had first moved in. Also to note, never in our previous 4 apartments had we lost our deposit. It did not matter. Our entire 500$ security deposit was withheld in what management described as "carpet cleaning" and other miscellaneous "cleaning" fees. Absolutely, no damage was made to the carpet, and we were never required to have them professionally cleaned. For the other cleaning fees, when asked, they provided us with pictures of what they considered dirty: the back behind of the oven, the soot on the fireplace, or the bottom of the dishwasher (which never properly worked and was never used), etc. Nothing at which would cost more than 50$ to clean let alone $500 The communication was always consistently poor. With the deposit, we were never proactively notified about the deposit deductions or provided an invoice until repeatedly attempting contact with the office. It took several phone calls, for which one was placed on hold for over 20 min and eventually hung up on. At this point, we are still waiting for a more itemized list that they said they would provide of what they listed as "cleaning" fees. It has been over a week since we have received a response. I highly recommend not living here unless you plan on being ignored. They have been avoidant for all of our issues and non-communicative. The office staff is always friendly and helpful…read more Like any big property management company, they try and throw different charges at you sometimes but the staff is quick to explain and fix any issues. I personally did not have any security issues but I know some of my peers did, the property does seem to be in the process of enhancing their security and they do have security who walks around at night! Although the gate to let cars in seems to be broken often and when it is working the key code they give you to let guests in works maybe 50% of the time. It is definitely a bit of a party spot at the pool, and some of the apartment buildings get LOUD. I know the property is looking to fix some of that. I will say I lived in a building away from the noise and it quiet in my apartment besides general apartment noises, I kept my windows open most of the time without issue. When I moved in to my apartment there was normal wear and tear on the unit with something's left unfixed that when I brought it to the attention of the apartment they said it will remain unfixed because that's just how it is. Cosmetic things mainly, damage to a wall in the closet, part of the counter edge broken in the kitchen, but in other apartments I believe it would have been fixed before move in if not after when brought to the attention of staff as I did! So while maintenance is quick to respond and repair any issues you have the general upkeep is slightly lower than I expected. My main issue with the complex is they seem to treat it almost like student housing, with one move in day for the busier months and frequent apartment checks without wiggle room to set up a time that works best for you, and staff not available for scheduled move out walk throughs. Since it is not student housing this can be very frustrating. Overall I really did enjoy my time at the flats and my dogs and I will miss it! I think it is a good option for students in the area looking for a convenient place to live.

On a holiday weekend it is not uncommon to see large groups partying and monopolizing the pool area. For families who reside here with children this can be intimidating. The staff responsible for maintaining the integrity and safety of the pool area are overrun and understaffed, they need help. They regularly evict non-residents from the pool area but they are not here 24/7. A private security firm or off duty law enforcement officers should be brought in to maintain the security and safety of the pool for ALL RESIDENTS to enjoy. With the rampant underage drinking occurring on the premises civil and criminal liability issues are going to occur.

I rented a 2 bedroom Corporate Apartment from High Range Village for eleven months. 1) NO AC. They have a swamp cooler. it doesn't cool the unit at all . 2) Corporate Furnishing ($1,950 a month) was old, cheap and uncomfortable. Every piece of furniture was from Big Lots, Kmart and/or Hobby Lobby, years ago! And the mattresses were old lumpy and "badly stained" with who knows what! 3) the counter tops were broken and patched up with bathroom caulking. 4) toward the end of my stay I asked for a refrigerator with an ICE MAKER that actually worked. They brought up a used refrigerator - and several days later sent me a notice that my rent was increasing by $150.00 a month. 5) and the WORST for last. The Apartment Director. Truly the Worst. She truly doesn't offer any type of services for corporate tenants what so ever, The fact that High Range Villages even claims to offer Corporate Apartments is a joke (and the joke is on the tenant), Corporate Aptmts. are all on the 2nd floor and the stairs leading to the apartment are old rickety steps that are unsafe and need to be replaced. If building inspectors came to inspect that stairs I am certain that they'd be identified as a safety hazard. I could go on - but by now you should have the general idea of what to expect.......

They hire their family members to do odd jobs (lawn etc). The pool and hot tub are inaccessible. I've lived here for 6 years, and I just received a notice that I have to allow maintenance in to my home to do upgrades or I'll be made to leave. I can't afford an extra $160 per month. COVID has ruined my savings. They won't work with me. Take a cautionary note: find a more welcoming place to call home.
