Waiting area outside is a full house. Holiday injuries and hypochondriacs.

I have picked the worst time to get injured. Recently got a concussion from a sports related scuffle, it happened to fall on BC Day Holiday. The "emergency" hospital wing has been renovated since the last time I was here with my partner, but this time it is my turn. Let me tell ya it is an eye opener. There were maybe 4 times more rooms and waiting area From the outside in the reception, upon entry in triage, it looks like a war zone with lights, camera and no action. You wait. I wait. Occasionally the nurses would come around and take your vitals. 2-3x. To see if you are surviving the wait. Most give up. They seem to to prioritize "the closer you are to death the sooner you are seen"........but near death people always seem to arrive inadvertently incessantly. After having waited 7 hours in the waiting area you get to graduate to the inner patients rooms. I was put in room 25. The number goes up to 30. Then we wait again. As of the writing 1.5 hours more no doctor insight. 12 hours later. We are done. From 2:30 pm to 2:30 am. For a very simple diagnosis and simple prescription. Hundreds of people in emergency room with 1 doctor. OMG. Hire more doctors. 2023/08/11 Oh I almost forgot all of the lovely conversations I had with the racist boomers. For example, one lady said she had to pick up her great-grandkids, "these days you will be lucky to see one or two white children in the school yard". Another older man said "I don't understand why coloured people keep coming to this country?" One old couple asked "hey you go pick up some alcohol for me at the nearby liquor store". He wasn't joking. Aside from the subtle and deep seated racism, at least the boomers are engaging and not preoccupied with their phones. I guess this is why seniors come to the emergency room for menial issues.

What can I say. This is what I'd consider the Beverly Hills of hospitals in the lower mainland. I had a major operation done and during my stay, it was clean, pleasant and the staff starting from the security, nurses, even cafeteria are smiling and friendly. The nurses in the ward were great and assisted me and I did not feel rushed to be booted out of the hospital like Surrey or RCH. Thank you

Horrible service. Staff not very knowledgeable. Volunteers are great. Wish there was an alternative

Don't go there unless you're dying otherwise you will be stuck there for 10 to 12 hr.

The hours are posted on the door but there is no doctor to see you. I came when it opened and the…read morereceptionist seemed annoyed that I was there. There is no sign, no notice that there is no doctor available to see patients. Neither can they provide any other suggestion as to how to contact a doctor, it seemed they just wanted to usher people away. Do not waste your time to come to this clinic. The pharmacy attached seems ok but the actual clinic is a waste of time.

I have recently moved to Coquitlam and was in search of a new GP. I was supposed to have my medical…read moretranscripts transferred over to this clinic but there was a mishap and was not completed (long story, but it wasn't this clinic's fault). Regardless, I went to see this doctor because I needed a refill on some prescriptions. I usually get off work at 4pm, and the receptionist told me 4pm is the last that the doctor can see me, so I told her that I'll try to get off earlier and may be 5-10 minutes late. She said okay, the doctor can wait. I got there at 4:05, and was greeted by the doctor with "You're late, I was about to leave." Rude, okay, but perhaps you have a life you want to attend to, fine. I got into the room (at this point I still thought my transcripts got transferred) and told him that he was my new GP, and he's like, no, I haven't been taking in patients in a long time. This is a strange statement because even if my transcripts did not get transferred over, there were flyers that were sent out to people's mailing addresses indicating that the clinic had been accepting new patients just a month or two prior. Moving on. I proceeded to tell him that I have had a history of depression, and I had been on medicationss before. He started to question me, "what is making you depressed?" to which I responded, I don't know, I have always just been depressed. He wouldn't accept my answer and kept pushing, "is it work? do you have relationship problems? finance?". I said "no, I'm in a good place in my life and I'm doing quite well". He did not really seem convinced. At this point I was irritated because if anyone knows, depression can most certainly be caused by an event but systemic depression does not necessarily have a cause. Anyway, at the end he just shrugged and said, "we can talk about your depression at the next appointment". Right. There will certainly not be a next appointment. I'd like to point out that they do have a pharmacy attached, and the woman there was very, very nice.
