It was time to replace the roof that was perilously old after a large windstorm blew off a patch of shingles. Our contractor put in a huge bid, hoping that our insurance company would simply write them a check. Didn't happen. I did an extensive review of roofers in the area and settled on North Idaho Exteriors and one other. Both jumped off of the page. I had solid bids fairly quickly from both companies. Chris Haley reached out to me and sent me all of the information. Chris noted to me that they couldn't get started on it for 3 months but would send a crew out to cover up and patch the exposed area of the roof. A huge help! Wil McGuire called me and let me know that they were going to knock out the roof the next day. I was impressed that they were able to finish the whole project in a day. It makes it much nicer for the tenants. Wil kept me informed of the progress throughout the day with copious photos, videos, and explanations. Sadly, all of our plywood sheeting needed to be replaced as it was very soft and rotting out. There was also a ceiling joist that was in need of repair. The whole tear down and installation was finished within the day. The only downside was the extra cost of the plywood (which I had anticipated). Chris helped me out and matched the other bid that I had received to help soften the blow of the additional cost. The communication process has been amazing. Chris and I have had many very nice conversations (talking about baseball and our kids). Makes it nice when you have a personal connection in addition to the business transaction. North Idaho Exteriors was the only one that was concerned about my family health and willing to re-arrange their schedule to help us out (due to our time crunch). I didn't hear anything back so I called one week later to ask if they are ready for me to pick up. The receptionist tells me that no they haven't even touched it. I asked why I was told one week she then informed me that actually they will get to it whenever they have time and that can't give me an approximate time it will be finished. Absolutely amazing service. We experienced sudden backup from our sewer lines…read more The first visit was on a weekend and they were at my house within an hour. Got things working, but then we had another issue a day later. Jason came back and cleaned everything out again, but did not charge me because it was from the original issue. The following day, it happened again. Ben cleared the problem, but then began mapping every line I had and found there was a plastic line leading to the outside of the house where the should have been an external clean out. Spencer then showed up with another gentleman with more tools and better cameras. We had had a window well put in and did not realize the cleanout had been broken in the process. They dug down (manually with a shovel) about 3 to 4 feet until they found where the cleanout pipe had been broken. They flushed it out, ran the camera to make sure there weren't any surprises, fixed the cleanout, then cleaned everything up (including putting away some hoses I had loaned them and closing all the gates). Initially, they were not going to charge me again! There's no way I could feel good about that. They worked so hard to find and resolve the issue, which they did: permanently. Everyone was so nice, hard-working, and unflappable with the issues that arose. My home is older, so I am setting up yearly maintenance with them, and will be, happily, doing business with them for a long time to come. I cannot recommend them enough. Through a really difficult and stressful event, they made it not only bearable, but even pleasant at times because of their demeanor and candor. I was really impressed initially with Nate when we decided to work with them. However things went…read moresouth right before Christmas. My install was a couple weeks before. Communication was great between me and the installer, but communication stopped a few days after. Talked with Nate and he told me the installer was mad because I kept bugging about issues I had when my husband was saying everything was fine. First off I'm the one who's name is on the bill, who made the appointment and paid for it. My number is the only one Nate and the installer had. My husband has had a stroke (which I shouldn't have to explain) he is unable to speak well and cannot relay information correct do to brain damage. There was a piece of vinyl flooring that was defective and I spoke to the installer about this But it was brushed off. They came to look at it and literally blamed me for it. This would be a miracle since no other piece around it was damaged. They made me feel horrible and I was super let down. I still have concerns about some things, and have no one to trust. I paid a lot of money for this and it was a huge step for me since we've never done anything this big in over 20 years. They did fix it but it doesn't feel good to not be happy with the job.
