Yes, it's a t-shirt shop, and yes, you get what you pay for at a place like this. I don't know why anyone should buy a Billie Eilish t-shirt while on vacation in Hayward, WI. The heart wants what the heart wants, I guess? I presume it was the owner who was helping us the day we went in with our hopped-up-on-candy children. I say this because he had his beautiful husky in the store, lounging at his feet. Random part time employees don't usually get to bring their pets to work. The other clerk I assume was his wife, just got that vibe from the way they interacted. She had a baby hanging out on her knee. I love supporting a family-run business, so this all appealed to me. Listen, this summer sucks, right? Everything is shut down, we're all wearing masks everywhere and can't do so much of what we thought we'd be doing. But buying a couple of cheesy shirts for my kids while we were having our up-north getaway felt a little bit normal. The owner patiently helped my sugar-deranged feral monsters select their decals, made recommendations on placement, and even gave them both a trinket for free. I'm sure owning a place like this at a time like this is grim. I was happy for the human connection friendliness we encountered. Oh, and all the "they're not local" comments in other reviews are xenophobic nonsense. Just because someone speaks a different language or isn't white doesn't mean they don't belong in a community. Eagle Wings is the up-north equivalent of the Tshirt shop on Jersey Shore. It has it all, and by that I mean: 1. Extremely bored clerks - I don't blame them one bit. There's only so many "Don't Bro Me If You Don't Know Me" shirts a person can sell and still remain sane. 2. T shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies that proclaim "Hayward, WI" in 10,000 varieties most of which a normal person would not even consider wearing. There was a panda version - what do pandas have to do with Hayward, WI? 3. Lots of stuff with deer, wolf and fish themes. All the "Shootin' Deers and Drinkin' Beers" shirts you can imagine. 4. Many shirts with "cool" (read: not cool at all) sayings like "YOLO" or "Come At Me Bro". I'm sure they have some classic "Talk to the Hand" stuff in back if you ask. 5. Cheap, cheap, cheap prices. That's because it will all likely fall apart the first time you put it in the dryer. You've been warned. read more

Should be 0 stars: 1 wash & it's missing the R&D of Hayward. My kid hasn't even worn it yet. Bought it last week on vacation...something to keep for my toddler's 1st vacation. Called the store to see if anything we could do. She said to bring it in so she can "look at it". We live 3hrs away so that's not possible. If I could give zero stars I would. Don't ask for an exchange or the owner will yell at you! We went into this store because they advertised having Crocs. Note they mostly only carry the styles no one wants and most of them were dusty. Aside from that, it's a shirt shop. We were hesitant to purchase a shirt because 50% of the time the decals from these places fall off after one wash. Because of that, we decided to get a tank for my husband with a small decal on the chest...in case it came loose in the wash we could easily remove it from a smaller area. The tank was good quality, and we thought the $15 price was fair. I assume the man we dealt with was the owner. He was grumpy and not very personable and although he asked me where I wanted the decal, it seems he didn't really care what I said because he ended up placing it lower several inches lower than I asked for...this was after him placing it on the shirt and me moving it up and then him moving it back down when he ironed it on. He gave me the shirt and I thought maybe he knew better than me, so we paid and left. The next day we decided to go back to town to do some more shopping and my husband wore the tank top. As we were in the car I looked at him and noticed that the decal was so low on the shirt it was almost at his mid-section...remember this is a small decal for the upper left chest of the shirt. Seeing this we went into the shop and asked if we could have an exchange or something, showing the owner how low the placement was and reminding him that I repeatedly asked for higher placement. A woman who was there with him this time, I assume it was his wife, was very kind and said she would do an exchange. I brought another tank top to her and the owner from the previous day started yelling at me saying "Why you wear it? Now I cannot resell it! I need the tags and you give me nothing!" I said fine, I understood and that I would purchase a new shirt if that was what I needed to do. He then started yelling at the woman, in what I assume was Greek, she said something back to him. She looked at me and said she would give us a new shirt. The man started yelling at me again and I told him I didn't think it was very good sales tactics to yell at your customers and that I was going to purchase another, more expensive, item when we were finished but since he was yelling at me I wouldn't. He stormed out of the store. I left the store a few minutes later and went to find my sister, who was in another shop at the end of the block...he was there and he was yelling and carrying on to the employees in that store about me while he gestured to his chest (the decal placement), yelling in Greek. My sister said, maybe I didn't want to come in there because this guy was yelling about me in front of his other customers. Long story short. The owner of this shop will treat you like complete crap unless you do everything exactly the way he wants it, even though it's your shirt. Don't waste your time or money shopping for someone who doesn't appreciate the business. read more

The t shirts are cheap in their stores because they are made in their country. They are made from the country where they live. You are right the owners are not local. Those t shirts shops are hurting the small business owners who live in eagle river who are trying to sell t shirts in there stores. I find it tacky how they carry boxes of t shirts down the street to put in there stores. The carpets are disgusting and I am always finding clothes on the floor. read more

If I could give these people zero stars I would. Make sure the decal you want is authentic. They have decals saying eagle River was established in 1953, 1953, and 1885. And the employees there don't care at all that the information is wrong. They wouldn't let us exchange them for a different decal even though obviously there are shirts all over with decals already on them. They will not help you or work with you at all. Shady people who just want your money... Go to any other shirt store in town. read more

This afternoon (July 8, 2020 at about 2pm) I asked to have a sweatshirt I had bought less than a week prior, exchanged. I politely waited my turn in line and was first "welcomed" with a sarcastically spoken "Can I help you?" due to my distance from other customers during this global pandemic. I asked the lady if I could exchange my sweatshirt and she replied with "What's wrong with it?", and I told her that the border I was told was "off-white" appeared yellow and not as I was told it would look like. She answered with both "That is off-white", which it obviously is not, and "Well you could have seen it on the wall". I a 14 year old, was appalled by the lack of customer service, and walked away on the verge of tears as a result of the treatment by the employee. My extended family and I will never be shopping here again, and I hope my encounter can save others from this treatment. read more

Seriously, buy your tourist t-shirts at Wal-Mart. I would normally NEVER say that! But this place made me so happy I did! The owner is not local and is rude and unprofessional. The prices are insane. Customizable t-shirts are $12.99, plus an image for $6, plus something like $.50-$1+ a LETTER for any wording. For a T-SHIRT.
