Had me get a CT scan to see why I kept getting mulitple sinus infections which this winter turned in to Bronchitis. Performed several procedures in the office to unblock my sinuses medicated me property before and after procedure so I would not needlessly suffer. Gave me a painless Steroid blast in my blocked left ear, since my Humana would not authorize the procedure he wanted to do on my ear, which would have led to a more permanent solution. The sinus procedure in his office helped with that too fortunately. He listens, he cares and he has surrounded himself with nurturtiing and kind nurses who answered my constant questions and took my many phone calls. Can't say how much trust I have in Dr. Bart and his staff and how grateful that I am to them all. Highly recommend. This Dr. and Staff know their stuff and his experience is showing.

But not…read moreonly that; Dr. Bart is prejudiced (he told me my English was pretty good for a Mexican) and his ethics and those of his clinic's personnel are highly questionable. The receptionist is rude and condescending, and the people you need to talk to at the ENT and Sinus Ctr. are never available when you call them, if you're lucky enough to have someone taking your call when you call. See Dr. Bart giving himself 5 stars in Google reviews! That tells you everything you need to know about him. On June 11, 2016 I was seen by Dr. Bart at the ENT and Sinus Center ABQ. Sometime between December 16 and December 20, 2019, over 6 months later, I received a bill from them saying I owed them $171.42 with a threat of being sent to a collection agency if I didn't pay right away. Since I didn't receive any form of statement or bill from the ENT and Sinus Ctr., I had assumed that my insurance had paid for everything that had taken place during that visit on June 11, I was totally unaware of the balance, and amazed by how they threat their patients with being sent to collection knowing that not receiving payment sooner is their fault because they took 6 months to send their first bill (the ENT and Sinus Ctr. charges a $35 copay for each visit, regardless). I learned from my explanation of benefits sent by my insurance company that the ENT and Sinus Ctr. had filed a claim to my insurance company for $659.00, for a supposed nasal endoscopy procedure which NEVER took place during my visit on June 11. The insurance company only allowed $413.46, which they paid to the ENT and Sinus Ctr., and I am supposedly responsible for the balance, $171.42. When I called the ENT and Sinus Ctr. to straighten this up (when I was finally able to talk to the person who could "help" me, after about 5 or 6 calls in which I left voicemails because nobody took my call), I was yelled at and told that the nasal endoscopy had indeed taken place, that I didn't know what I was talking about, and that I should pay immediately or my account would be sent to collections. The nasal endoscopy procedure the ENT and Sinus Ctr. claims took place is defined as "CPT #31231, nasal endoscopy, is billed under the 'surgical unmbrella', because the procedure is invasive. An endoscope with it's rigid fiberoptic telescope allows the physician both increased visualization and magnification of internal anatomy. Topical vasoconstrictive agents are applied to the nasal mucosa and nerve blocks with local anesthesia. The endoscope is placed into the nose for a thorough inspection of internal nasal structures to be accomplished" - Dr. Bart NEVER did anything to put me under local anesthesia, and much less inserted a rigid fiberoptic telescope into my nose. This never took place during my visit of June 11. This unethical doctor knows exactly what he is doing in issuing a bill to patients once 6 months have passed since the procedure, in order to make sure that patients cannot fight any fraudulent charges because we only have up to 6 months to submit appeals or grievances, according to my insurance company's rules. This doctor can claim that he sent me bills before December 15 2018, but that is simply not true. This doctor is stealing money from my insurance and from me by claiming that he performed a procedure that never took place. Because Because this doctor did not issue a bill until December 15, 2018, exactly 6 months and 4 days after the nasal endoscopy was supposed to have taken place I regret greatly having come to this doctor to help me see what was wrong with my sinuses. Stay away from him and from the ENT and Sinus Center.

The Good Doctor Onyia was a terrific ENT provider for fixing my deviated septum. He has a marvelous…read morebedside manner that includes a hearty greeting every time and an enduring smile and twinkle in the eye. He was refreshingly high-spirited, which could set any nervous patient at ease, but appropriately austere when explaining the medical condition, procedures, and options. His Pres office has all the delightful parking inconveniences of a major hospital, but is easy to access on the fourth floor once you get inside. It's clean and tidy, and care is prompt. I never waited more than a couple minutes for my scheduled visits. The clinic staff are all very pleasant and cheery -- the... intake nurse? receptionist? not sure what the appropriate title is for the first contact at the reception desk... always greeted me sweetly and set a cheerful tone, and the nurses were equally pleasant. The schedulers, patient liaisons who called for the pre-op rigor morale, everyone really whom I interacted with regarding this procedure were simply lovely. It seemed like they were generally happy to work for this guy, which inevitably creates a positive environment for patients/customers. He does the surgical procedures at Kaseman, which is much easier and immediate access from your car. Again, these staff are positively lovely! From the receptionists to the nurses and everyone in between, everyone who interacted with me, when finding out Onyia was my surgeon said "Oh, I just LOVE him! You're in wonderful hands!" I think it really says a lot about a person when their colleagues are that fond of them, and a lot about a doctor when their staff are genuinely happy being at work. To boot, he's clearly very experienced at this gig. any time mention of the procedure duration came up, it was always "well, it's a 45 minute procedure but he'll be done well before that." I highly recommend fixing that septum if you haven't breathed through your nostrils in 20 years, and I highly recommend this provider for doing so.

My wife and I were both hospital Clinical Pharmacists for 40+ years so we have come across thousands of practitioners on a professional and personal level. We would rate Dr. Mudd in the top 5%. After his initial workups, I agreed to his surgery suggestion. Not only did I get my voice back, my breathing problems were solved as a side benefit. As a side note, his office is on Jefferson Street in the Lovelace building.

The tests were scheduled along with a follow up appointment with Dr Horn. At that appointment he explained what each part of each test was meant to disclose, showed and explained how my results ruled out certain diagnoses, recommended next steps to rule out other possibilities, and provided the names and contact info for specialists in those fields. While I don't yet have all the answers, I very much appreciate the information, explanations, and direction given by Dr Horn.

During the procedure he arbitrarily removed a non-infected critical sinus structure. This caused severe breathing problems for me. When I asked why he removed those structures he said "just to make it easier for him to do the procedure. Making something easier for him caused me to have lifelong severe breathing problems. Now I cannot breathe through my nose and Gerencer has refused to repair the damaged he caused. My life is in total ruins because of Dr Gerencer. He never even mentioned that part of my sinus in consultation. Now I am totally crippled and cannot sleep because I cannot breathe through my nose. How a doctor can cripple a patient without repairing the damage he caused is outrageous. Do not use this doctor!

My specialist doctor had referred me here for issues he was unable to treat, but Nagel was apparently unable to diagnose or treat my issues as a supposed expert in the ENT practice. He also made very inappropriate and discriminatory comments regarding my age and health issues. Unfortunately for me, I'm younger with a somewhat serious illness. One would think a professional doctor would realize that a younger age doesn't necessarily equate with great health. I'll definitely be looking for another opinion from a more talented, kind and less discriminatory ENT professional. I would advise other patients to look elsewhere as well.

We were told that to be seen they have to do a hearing test, well I had one recently. Six months ago is apparently too long ago, so they won't even see me without doing a new one. That really doesn't make sense to offer to schedule me for a procedure I don't need in a month to be seen in two months for the pain I'm having now. The recently opened University of New Mexico Adult Emergency unit and Critical Care Tower is a huge…read moreimprovement over the previous emergency room. One thing that really struck me was the security. We had to stop and be wanded and have all of our belongings searched before we were allowed to enter the waiting room and patient check-in area. It feels good knowing there are no weapons in the area and that everyone has been checked. Don't forget to leave your pepper spray in the car. There was an individual who was just kind of hanging out, laying down on one of the chairs. Security came to move him along and before long, there were 6 to 7 officers surrounding the individual who was refusing to leave. They were able to diffuse the situation and remove the gentleman without violence or harm. I was extremely impressed with the security in this new emergency unit and the professionalism of the officers. Another great feature is the mobile triage unit. In the waiting room, folks are triaged without having to get up from their chairs. Of course this is extremely helpful for people with mobility issues and the team was expeditious and professional. Another great feature are the private consultation cubbies that they have in the waiting room. The providers can come out and meet confidentially with the patient's family without having everyone in the waiting room listening. A super way to protect HIPAA. The visitor check-in staff were clear, kind, and personable, even with people who are not particularly kind to them. I felt like they actually cared about me and my family, which was really nice for a change. They also seemed to know who we were when I went back up to see if we could go back yet. I was really surprised because it had been an hour or so and many people had rolled through, but they knew right away that we were already checked in and able to go back to visit my family member. Each family is escorted to their family members' room in the back so there aren't people wandering around which again ensures greater security. My family member received exceptional care in the new emergency unit. He had Level 2 Trauma and was assessed quickly with myriad tests and imaging studies completed. We arrived at the hospital around 8 PM in the evening and after making sure my family member was being taken care of we left and were called at 4am to come to pick him up. This is remarkable considering many people, including me, have noted waiting upwards of 15 hours in the old UNMH emergency room. We were seen and my family member treated and released within eight hours! This was simply astounding to me, given how long it usually takes to be taken care of in an emergency room. The staff in the emergency unit were professional, kind, and forthcoming with information when they had it. This included a nurse and an x-ray tech with whom we interacted directly. Also, when we were trying to figure out where to go, a really nice staff member from the hospital (possibly a nurse or tech), who was taking his dinner break, kindly walked us to where we needed to go. Even when I tried to wave him off because I wanted him to eat his dinner while it was hot, he still proceeded further to make sure that we got to the right location quickly. He was also incredibly personable and kind. I feel that my family member received top-notch care by an experienced and professional team of individuals who worked together well to care of, not only my family member, but me and my other family member. At this point, I am happy to highly recommend the new University of New Mexico Hospital, emergency department and critical care tower. You can drop patients off at the Yale exit for the adult emergency unit. The pediatric emergency unit is a separate entrance and another location (see a map of UNMH online before you go). I don't have details on that since I haven't used it. I'm sorry, but I did not take pictures of the emergency department or waiting area in order to comply with HIPAA and to show general consideration for those in the waiting room. I hope you never need to go there, but if you do, you'll definitely be in good hands.

We were particularly impressed with Dr Sim, who helped us with the hard decisions. At no time did we ever think that they needed more staff on duty. the facility itself was designed and maintained better than any hostpital I've been to.
