On this visit, I started off good, ordering only coffee, but I told my hubby about the baked goods and just like that we got delicious treats too! Trouble, looking for a place to happen! Looks like we both have a sweet tooth!! Service is good, coffee is good, treats are fresh and very tasty. The location is not large, but it's clean - including the washrooms. The biggest downer this past summer was the constant construction on Dundas, which blocked vehicular traffic all summer long. This must surely have negatively affected the local businesses. As we walked in, I noticed the open concept and minimal decor and fell in love with it! We were greeted by both the employees working right away and I must say, the customer service was perhaps the best part of the entire experience. We were never rushed to order as they gave us plenty of time to debate the menu and when it came time to order, the gentleman was very thorough and helpful with the sizes of drinks, explaining the milk alternatives which are free of charge, order was clarified to ensure it was correct - all in all, you could feel he took his time to get things right for us. When our iced matcha beverages were handed off, he realized he didn't let us know they come Una's a default and there, he offered simple syrup or vanilla syrup of our choosing since we do prefer our matcha sweetened. After tasting, we told him two pumps wasn't sweet enough and he kindly added more syrup for us. I personally ordered the seasonal white chocolate matcha as a hot beverage which was tasty but a little too sweet - I would request for half sweet next time. I also got the sea salt chocolate chip cookie as I couldn't resist (it looked so good in the pastry display!) It turned out to be absolutely delicious - the edges being the best part. My mom said it paired well with her Americano which was made with their Heritage blend. Speaking of which, before my mom ordered her coffee, she was offered to try their brew before buying which was really helpful as it ended up being too acidic for her. The Heritage blend was much more her preference with the nutty notes. All in all, a nice place to study and/or grab a coffee and snack to go! I'd highly recommend anyone to visit if in the area.

Female bartender was very friendly. Place was quite lit on a Saturday afternoon. There was a long, communal picnic table outside, but no umbrellas in sight. Selection wasn't huge, there was a few beers on tap with 4 samples in a flight ($14). Glasses for the flights were quite BIG! Please see pic. The DDIPA/stout were standouts. There wasn't any food/snacks - maybe chips - on-site, but there was someone doing a BBQ outside, but I was unsure whether or not that was a Saturday special as I didn't see any signs.

Kintore's bricks and mortar store opened only in January, when lo-and-behold, COVID19 hit, and they had to close! It was very nice inside, inviting. The staff (owner?) was knowledgeable and friendly, and knows most of his customers. They offer brewed coffee in mild, medium, and strong, and they offer whole beans by the pound. Behind the cash, there's an area where they roast the beans if you happen to catch them doing so; we did not. There's a section in front of the cash, near the back of the shop and restaurant (where there would normally be seating and tables) with shelving displaying work by local artists and a jeweler. They also sell coffee travel mugs, hats, and tee-shirts with their logo on them. I would definitely go back, when ever I might find myself back in their neighbourhood. I recommend a visit.

I managed to find a small table that had a power outlet and ended up spending a nice piece of my Friday morning relaxing here with great coffee and a fabulous muffin. Lots of very fresh food on offer and they even had a basket of apples from someone's garden for free. Wifi worked well, people were friendly, the food came out very quickly. It's in the Old East Village, past Adelaide St, and they're really revitalizing this area and I think it's wonderful, this establishment is located in an old warehouse, which was turned into Fire Roasted and the Old East Grocer. I came this afternoon for a Yelp event and I brought my mom. We parked in the back, since there wasn't any parking on the road, which was fine, you just have to pay to park. We walked into the place and Fire Roasted is on the left and the grocers is straight ahead. Smaller café, but there were plenty of tables and chairs available for our small event! I had ordered two small coffees for my mother and myself and we tried the bagel bombs they had, jalapeno, and garlic & bacon, both of which were delicious. I believe all the food items are outsourced, but they are delicious nonetheless. The actual Roasting plant is in the back of the building, I took a walk down to see what it looked like, and it was really interesting to see how they do it. This is such a unique building, and how they've renovated it to help revitalize the whole east end is amazing, bringing in the local business to help this area thrive again. I'll definitely be sure to come back, the ambience is wonderful, and the coffee is delicious.
