Without going into medical treatment, I was advised by multiple doctors that actions taken during my care at this practice was inappropriate. Aside from that medical angle of the experience, I found the support staff terribly unprofessional. For example, one office associate told me that I needed a letter from my insurance company stating that I had reached my out-of-pocket limit for the year. (I had no such letter, and no other providers had required one, so I called my insurance company from the office to verify.) Meanwhile, I was ushered into the exam room and was waiting (barefoot, which made me feel oddly vulnerable) and that associate came into the examination room and yelled at me that there is always a letter, and I needed to pay a copay now. I was reaching for my wallet to hand her my credit card (in the examination room, mind you) when another employee came and corrected her. So I have a congregation of office workers in the door of my examination discussing their office issues, and I had just been there two weeks earlier, and had essentially been through the same thing with the payment question. Anyway, no, my insurance company does not send or require me to show a letter, and the staff at this establishment is unpleasant and rude. I have since found another practice. Another thing, though trivial, is that this practice does not handle any records electronically, so everything has to be done physically--X-rays burned to discs, records printed, etc. They also charge fees for doing so and require a week's time just to get records printed for pickup or to be mailed. They did not supply records to other treating physicians. I have not had this experience with any other providers--records are always supplied to requested providers without complication. read more
