The interior stone foundation in the basement of my 130 year old home needed serious repairs. I didn't want someone to come and just do a patch job. So, I searched for a knowledgable, skilled and experienced craftsman; someone to come and survey my basement and determine what needed to be done. I wanted someone who would truly know how to repair, restore and preserve my old house that I love so very much. I am so, so, so grateful to have found Bill / Earth and Stone Masonry. Bill and his crew meticulously prepped, cleaned and repointed the stone walls. He also, very artistically, replaced the flimsy old basement windows with secure, efficient, casement windows. Once the work was underway, Bill noticed a few other issues in my basement and took care of each of them. And because he and his crew are true artisans, they made the effort to beautifully finish their work and then thoroughly cleaned up after a pretty messy job. Not only is my once creepy basement now restored, sealed and free of drafts and insects... it is neat and clean and actually really beautiful! I have hired earth and stone masonry for two projects so far. The first was a small set of stone steps leading into my back yard as well as cleaning up the rock wall in which the steps were cut into. The following year I hired them again but this time for a much larger project (approximately 6 weeks). They did a natural stone veneer around the entire foundation of my house with a hand chiseled blue stone sill on top. The stones that Bill chose not only tied into the colors of our home but the stones also look native to the area. My wife and I were thrilled with the final product!! Bill Davis is a superb stonemason. We first met Bill at least 15 years ago when we had an addition put on our house. He did the additions foundation in stacked stone, laid stone patios and steps built the most outrageous barbeque and built a koi gold fish pond for my husband complete with waterfall. Then my late husband decided he was adding another addition his office and the whole addition is made from stone. At least once a week people stop to admire this beautiful addition complete with round window. Bill Davis recently finished a pretty extensive job at my house. He replaced the front stoop, sidewalks, and various walls. This being the final phase of a few addition/renovation projects, we really wanted something to tie everything together nicely. Thanks to Bill and his crew we couldn't be happier. Right from the beginning of the estimate process it was easy to tell Bill was passionate about his work. Choosing them for the job was a pretty easy decision.
