But sadly COVID hit & things changed to online. My husband & I have changed careers several times since 2022, & we had a baby, so there are several things to add into your taxes. This year, we spent over $15k in medical expenses, had our first child, & hoped we would get some kind of a tax refund. But unfortunately that didn't happen. When I asked about adding money to our IRAs, or why we didn't get to file itemized, or how else we can reduce our tax bracket, we were told it was a "paid question that required a paid appointment". His incompetence cost us penalties with the IRS, yet instead of taking responsibility, he held our returns hostage until we paid him in full, even though he already had our deposit. We uploaded what was asked of us, and then another few weeks go by without any communication. Again, we had to take action to follow up on our taxes. We only received notification our taxes were officially filed yesterday IN JUNE, which was well over 2.5 months since we first reached out. There was no acknowledgement or apology.
